On reading this, you may think that you want to live in city A because it was host to fewer murders. However, when you calculate the murder rates, you will see that the murder rate for city A is 208 per 100,000 citizens and that for city B is 80 per 100,000 citizens, which is much lower.

The challenge of terrorism against the United States led the government to create the Department of Homeland Security with the hope of leveraging federal, state, and local police agencies, intelligence agencies, and immigration agencies to cooperate in communicating findings and creating joint efforts to stop threats of terrorism or confronting a terrorist attack.
The current threat of terrorism has made many senators and representatives in Congress think about the United States combining all of its police agencies into one national police organization. The centralization of power would stop the discombobulated nature of the 3 government levels of police and provide a clear, overall standard on how to police not only terrorism acts but crime in general.
Please answer the questions below. Give your opinion concerning the topics, and provide examples. Discuss your findings as far as any statistics that you list concerning the victims. You have an opportunity to discuss your thoughts about what options might be taken concerning victims of racial profiling. Be sure to back up your opinions with facts from cited sources.
Do you believe that the establishment of terrorism as a crime that can be committed domestically has changed policing? How? Why? Provide examples.
Have the number of victims of racial profiling increased over the last decade?
What laws and services are available for victims of racial profiling?
What other actions might be taken on behalf of victims of racial profiling?
Has the Department of Homeland Security helped fight terrorism, or has it simply duplicated the efforts and jurisdictions of other agencies? How has it helped?
Be sure to cite all references in APA format.

When you were attending AIU, you thought of yourself being an undercover narcotics officer or working for a bank as a fraud investigator, but you were initially exposed to the role of a victims' witness assistant during the Criminal Careers course at AIU. Then, your best friend became a victim of a crime of violence after being stalked for several months, and that incident changed your life. As you provided comfort and support to your friend during the judicial process, you were exposed first-hand to the role played by the victims' witness assistant during the criminal judicial process. The role of the victims' witness assistant changed you, and you decided then that you wanted to pursue a career as a victims' rights advocate somewhere. It has been a year since you were able to start your career in the victims' rights advocate position, and every day, you feel that you are making a difference in society and your jurisdiction.
The prosecutor for whom you have been working as a victims' witness assistant has had several calls from victims of stalking. Some cases seem more serious than other cases; however, one case that no one in the office thought was seriou.

Criminal law is a system that has evolved due to societal needs. This cycle of development begins when laws are enacted at the legislative stage. The laws are then enforced by law enforcement and are later applied by the judiciary. Many a times, laws are determined at the legislative stage but are developed in the courtroom. Both the processes are equally important in the criminal justice system. You may have your own thoughts on which one is more important.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Element Research
For more classes visit
www.snaptutorial.com
Most crimes applicable to citizens are covered under state or federal
statutes. Upon completion of this assignment, you will be able to locate
your state statutes, search within them a variety of crimes, and decipher
their elements.
Tasks:
For this assignment, you are required to prepare a 10-slide Microsoft
PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes incorporating the content in
the reading assignments for this week and material from your state
statutes.
Statutes are the laws unique to the state where you live and are passed
by the legislature. You are not to use the federal statutes passed by
Congress. Start your research on your state home page on the Internet.
Look for a link to the state statutes. Another alternative is to do a search,
for example, for Colorado state statutes, on the Internet.
Once you have located the state statutes, you will search for crimes
against property or crimes against persons. Another alternative is to
2. search for the particular crimes after you have completed your reading
assignments in the textbook.
In your presentation, you will include:
Five slides on crimes against persons
Five slides on crimes against property
You will establish the elements of each of the crimes and explain
whether the crime is a felony or a misdemeanor.
In addition, you will include a slide at the end of your presentation for
your references in the APA format, as is required for all Argosy
assignments. Refer to your Argosy Handbook or APA materials to
properly cite your text and your state statutes. On your state judicial
branch home page, there may also be information on how to cite the
state statutes.

CJA 215 Module 2 Assignment 2 The Scott
Peterson Case
For more classes visit
www.snaptutorial.com
3. You are required to research the Scott Peterson case and prepare a
summary report of the events that led to his arrest and eventual
conviction of the crimes. There was no direct evidence that lead to his
convictions for first and second-degree murder. This case is a California
State case, where for the first time, someone is on death row based
solely on circumstantial evidence. Scott Peterson is currently on the
death row for the killing of his wife and unborn child.
This assignment allows you to see a case all the way from the trial to the
sentencing of an accused.
Tasks:
Research the Argosy University Online Library to get the background
facts of the case and document the sources you find to establish your
researched facts.
Provide enough background facts that explain what occurred in this case
and how Peterson was charged and ultimately convicted. Make sure you
choose wisely and present only relevant evidence leading to the
conviction.
Present a minimum of five items of evidence that the jury relied upon in
reaching this decision.
Provide a summary of the events that led to Peterson's arrest and
eventual convictions of the crimes. Then, describe in detail the crimes
and elements for which he was found guilty.
In the Argosy University Online Library, locate one or two articles from
criminal justice journals, related to this case. Use the information to
discuss the crimes charged in the Scott Peterson case.
4. Compile your summary report, including all information researched, and
prepare a submission paper in accordance with the following guidelines:
This paper is to be in the APA format, with a cover sheet and a reference
page at the end.
The length of the paper is to be a minimum of three pages and no more
than five pages. This length does not include your cover sheet or
reference page.
Remember that the APA font is Times New Roman, font size 12.
