4. WHAT IS CIRCULATORY
SYSTEM?
-Also known as cardiovascular system.
-The Circulatory System is responsible for
transporting materials throughout the
entire body.
-It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen
to your billions of body cells and carries
away wastes such as carbon dioxide that
body cells produce.
-It is an amazing highway that travels
through your entire body connecting all
your body cells.
16. Arterioles
-a very small blood vessel
that branches off from
your artery and carries
blood away from your
heart to your tissues and
organs. Arterioles are
small arteries that link up
to capillaries, which are
smaller yet.
30. 2 Types of Circulation
Pulmonary
circulation -moves
blood between the heart
and the lungs. It
transports deoxygenated
blood to the lungs to
absorb oxygen and
release carbon dioxide.
The oxygenated blood
then flows back to the
heart.
Systemic
circulation- moves
blood between the
heart and the rest of
the body.
