Theodoros Kolokotronis built a small church and house between 1825-1832 on land given to him for his contributions in the Greek Revolution. The church of Agioi Theodoroi was built on the foundations of a Venetian tower and contained an icon of Agioi Theodoroi that Kolokotronis took from another church. In 1833, Kolokotronis was arrested at this house and imprisoned for 11 months for treason against King Othon before receiving a pardon. Though the buildings are now gone, the small church of Agioi Theodoroi remains as a testament to Kolokotronis' time there.

2. The estate in the area of "Kiul Tepe" (currently known as 4
Kalamata Street) was donated to Kolokotronis for his contribution to
the war, during the Revolution. In the same way, estates and
houses were given to other fighters, such as: Bouboulina,
Staikopoulos, Miaoulis, Mavrogenous. Then, Kapodistrias gave it to
Kolokotronis orally. Finally Othonas gave it to him officially in a
document.

3. The house and the small church of Agioi Theodoroi according to
tradition were built between the years 1825 and 1832 by
Theodoros Kolokotronis, inside the estate, utilizing pre-existing
buildings. In this large farm, the Elder of Moria, often lived. The
main residence was in Platanos Square, currently known as
Syntagma Square

4. At the place where the house was
built, there was an outpost - a
Venetian tower. On the foundations
of the tower, Kolokotronis built the
house and a small church dedicated
to Agioi Theodoroi. It is said that the
church replaced a pre-existing a
shrine and was dedicated to a larger
church of the same name that
existed in Akronafplia. From the
church of Agioi Theodoroi, where
Bourtzi is located today, Kolokotronis
took the icon of Agioi Theodoroi,
which is located in the church.

5. According to the historian of Nafplio, M. Lambrinidis, in
this "privately owned cottage" "he (Kolokotronis) was
resting on the night of 6-7-1833" where he was arrested
by the Bavarian police, to be detained in Leonardo
prison next to the Parliament (Grand Mosque) of
Syntagma Square in Nafplio with the accusation of "anti-
Othonian".
After his death sentence, of high treason, he was
imprisoned in the dark prison of Palamidi, together with
Plapoutas. Eventually they were imprisoned for 11
months until Othonas was forced to pardon them.

Kolokotronians, was bought in the year 1898,
by the brothers Konstantinos, Grigorios and
Georgios Dim. Retali, from Aggeliki, widow of
Ioannis Th .. Kolokotroni.
According to the contract of sale, the small
church remained in the ownership of the
