What The Homestead Act Is Through Its Powerpoint Slideshow...
I found a great lesson to work off of for my lesson plan on history of the Homestead Act. The
original lesson was well organized but very short. I chose to focus on Domain 2 Conceptual
Understandings because this lesson plan only had one assessment and I felt that the assessment was
weak in whether a teacher could gage students understanding of the material. This lesson did a
below average job of explaining what the Homestead Actis through its powerpoint slideshow and
worksheet activities. I also didn t like how the lesson plan was designed to show a video clip of
the Western Expansion at the very end of the lecture. I feel that by showing this video is pointless
and students might lose interest by the end of the lesson.
Overall, I agree with the lesson objective but modified it to make it fit my lesson. I also thought
that the opening question was a good way to start a discussion of what the Homestead Act is and
why settlers moved west. I think this question really gets students thinking and is a great segway
to the powerpoint lecture. After the class discussion the lesson plan went right into the the
powerpoint lecture. I think this is a great next step but the powerpoint was very dry and boring.
There is no way a class of 4th graders could sit for 20 minutes listening to the provided
powerpoint. The worksheet packet is a great idea but it did not follow along with the powerpoint
and at points is confusing. I believe if a teacher is going to provide a worksheet packet

The European Union Law Has A Big Impact On How The Uk Law...
The European Union law has had a big impact on how the UK law monitor their water pollution as
there are now specific standards that have to be adhered to as the government are now monitored
and measured. The EU first regarded water pollution as an important matter in 1973 and have been
introducing new directives since. The directives have looked at a number of topics referring to
water pollution. In 2000 the European Commission produced The Water Framework Directive 2000
/60/EC (WFD) legislation as a major driver for achieving sustainable management of water in the
UK and other EU member states for many years to come. The WFD requests that all inland and
coastal waters within river basin districts must reach at least good status by 2015 and states how
this should be reached through the establishment of environmental objectives and ecological goals
for surface waters. As a result, there will be healthy water environment, achieved by taking due
account of environmental, economic and social considerations (European Communities, 2000). The
WFD is a legal structure that protects all rivers, lakes, estuaries, inland coastal waters and
groundwater bodies across Europe. It aims to do this by: Encouraging sustainable water
consumption Protecting, Enhancing and stopping any deterioration of aquatic systems Stopping
hazardous substances entering the marine environment Reducing ground water pollution Over the

How Did Emily Dickinson s Life Influence Her Poetry
Emily Dickinson Her Life and Poetry
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born December 10, 1830, into an influential family in Amherst,
Massachusetts. Her father helped found Amherst College, where Emily later attended between
1840 and 1846. She never married and died in the house where she was born on May 15, 1886.
Emily Dickinson s reclusive life was arguably a result of her proposed bi polar disorder. This life
and disorder unduly influenced the themes of her poetry. She chose not to associate herself with
society and volumes of her poems, published posthumously, examine this idea as well as the
themes of nature and death. The clearest examples of these themes are presented in the following
analysis of just of few of her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem conjures images of a solemn ceremony in which the soul reigns superior by shutting out
everyone, including the emperor, similar to the shutting out of everyone that Dickinson did. In one
of Dickinson s most famous poems, I heard a Fly buzz, the theme of death is presented as well as a
symptomatic characteristic of bi polar disorder. The poem itself epitomizes her preoccupation with
death and the macabre and also shows how the small, normally ignorable sound of a fly buzzing
becomes the only thing heard, she magnifies this sound in a situation when it seems that everything
else is much more important, but this inability to drown out extraneous noises is typical of
someone suffering from manic depression. The form of this poem employs all of Dickinson s
formal patterns: trimeter and tetrameter iambic lines, her specific use of the dash to interrupt the
meter of the poem, and it is in ABCB rhyme scheme.
Two of Dickinson s universal techniques are metaphor and the fresh application of language; both
techniques result in powerful images, and can be seen in two of her poems that focus on nature
themes, A Bird came down the Walk and narrow Fellow. She closes the poem, A Bird with a stanza
equating flight through the air with movement through water,

Silence In The Short Story No Name Woman
Silence Parents confide in their children about many things. They might talk to their children about
their friends, family, or anything that they can t share others. When parents start to tell their child
something secretive they always start the conversation with, keep this to yourself , or in the case of
the short story No Name Woman , the motherstarts the conversation with You must not tell anyone
(568). In this story the mother tells the daughter a story as a life lesson of why you should never
humiliate family. The daughter dwells on this secret for twenty years trying to figure out every
detail about the story. Parents don t realize that their children dwell on stories forever, but that is
what children do. In the story No Name... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why did you and dad separate? Why is he not living here anymore? When she finally gave me
the answer it was not the answers to the questions I asked all the tim. It was the answer to a
question that I had never asked. She went into the story of how my dad told her that he was
divorcing her. My dad had left a note in the bathroom saying that he had ran away with my
stepmom to Mardi Gras. This was all the information that I was given. Don t let your father
know that I told you (569). She told me the exact words that Kingston s mom told her. My
mother would get very upset when I brought up their divorce, because of this I felt like I couldn t
ask her all the questions running through my head. Instead of asking questions I started to create
stories in my head of what happened. The stories consisted of how my dad had met my stepmom.
Why they decided to run away to Mardi Gras. Why my dad specifically left the note in the
bathroom. Over time the stories changed my mind of how I viewed my new stepmom. Because of
my mom confiding in me I hated my stepmom, because she was the one that ripped apart my

Popular Kids vs. Unpopular Kids Everyone wants to be the popular kid in high school right?
Not always true because popularity isn t always as great as it looks. Belonging in the popular
social group in high school can be a rough place for some individuals. In other words, the grass
isn t always greener on the other side. While unpopular teens wish to join the other side, they
should consider a few things before making a rash decision. While pondering through the negative

Just imagine the sound of a thousand flies buzzing down the hallway with the latest gossip. In a
matter of one day, one comment could be transformed into a rumor and spread through the
whole school like wild fire. Drama inevitably corrupts most teens but popular teens thrive on it
like an addiction, and sometimes create lies just to ruin one s reputation. True friends, who
might not be the most popular kids in school, but they would also never talk about a friend
behind his or her back just to gain a higher reputation with the popular click (Article one).
Staying out of drama can help one feel less stressed. Avoiding it can also stop individuals from
getting involved in something they might regret. Gossip is difficult to find roaming among the
unpopular group because they rarely feel the need to seek attention or hurt someone s feelings
by spreading rumors. They are already content and aware of how to treat individuals as they
would like to be treated. When the weekend hits it is common for the popular click to go out and
party. Everyone hears the stories of how drunk someone got or how the cops busted a few
unfortunate teenagers. Even the best of teens get peer pressured into going to the weekend party
and drinking. All of this obnoxious partying is not appropriate for a 15 to 18 year old teenager.

Julie Taymor Influences
Julie Taymor was born on December 15, 1954 in Newton, Massachusetts to a doctor and a
politician. The youngest of three children, both more than six years older than her, she had a
tremendous amount of freedom (Molina). She lived through the turbulent 1960 s noticing how
new circumstances caused by the Vietnam war influenced the behavior of those around her and
how these changes developed as time passed. This close observation of what people went through
and how it shaped them had a large influence on what would become her creative basis not only
for fabricating the costume design for productions, but also for directing many theatrical, film, and
opera works. After producing her first theatrical work at age seven in her backyard, Taymor began
to go to the Boston Children s Theatre where she studied acting. At the age of ten, she was not only
among the youngest there, she also did not know many people as the company consisted of children
from all over Boston. This began something that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

there, she created Theater Loh, a troupe composed of actors, dancers, musicians and puppeteers
from a multitude of countries. With this company she created a trilogy called Way of Snow which
served to explore tensions between traditional Indonesian society and modern influences. Taymor
carved all of the puppets and masks used in this performance herself using wood from a tree

What Is Elon Musk My Hero
My hero is Elon Musk. Elon Musk owns 3 companies, all simultaneously working towards 3
amazing goals. His company SpaceX is working toward landing humans on mars, his company
Tesla is working on making cars safer and more environmentally friendly, and his company
Solarcity is working on implementing 100% renewable energy worldwide. He leads a very busy
life, and still dedicates lots of his time to making the world a better place. Because of all of these
things Elon Muskis a hero in every sense of the word.
He owns a company named SpaceX, which is working towards multiple extremely important goals.
His company is primarily working towards landing humans on Mars, and that might not sound like
much, but is much more important when you look into the finer details (spacex.com). Firstly, he is
working to expand our knowledge of the universe, which is great because the more we know about
our universe the more amazing things will be possible in the future, and sooner. Another great

Analysis Of Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir
In Simone De Beauvoir Second Sex, the author aims to define what it is be a woman. It is difficult
to pin down the definition of something that has a multitude of meanings to different people. The
author makes the claim that although someone is female they may not identify as a woman. In an
effort to define women, men have made the comparison against themselves. The essence of woman
through the eyes of men is purely a sexual being. The Man views himself as the superior being
while only viewing women in terms of personal benefit. De Beauvoir goes on to state a man can
imagine himself without a woman yet, a woman cannot imagine herself without man. Not much has
changed when it comes to the core argument that on a subconscious level men view... Show more

Weinstein would frequently tell the women that all actresses would partake in those type of
behaviors therefore, they should as well. Men who sexually harass women choose to prioritize
their desires over the potential long term trauma the victim will most likely endure. It also brought
to light another abuser, the bystander. Men of all ages stand by as inappropriate jokes are made at
woman s behalf. In the Weinstein scandal, numerous celebrities came forward stating they heard
about rumors involving weinstein but never the full extent. Too often people, men in particular, are
willing to protect the abuser because it is easier to ignore the situation altogether. Harvey Weinstein
had female assistants who would bring actresses to the disgraced producer knowing he would put
the young actress in an uncomfortable position. Downplaying the oppression of women will only
make it more difficult for there to be true gender equality. Gender equality can also be expanded
to the many genders that people choose to identify with today. All genders other than the Man are
currently seen as second class citizens. Once the subconscious gender oppression ceases to play a
role in our work and social environments, genders can finally be equal. That means jokes are not
made based on gender, pursuit of happiness should not be dictated by gender, sexual desires will

Nancy s Affliction in William FaulknerГ±s That Evening Sun
The exploitation of Nancy s racial stature in William Faulkner s That Evening Sun is one of the
world s most deeply saddening, unavoidable truths that we have faced since the dawn of
civilization. These racial indignities have provoked the masses to violence which that is stemmed
from the ignorance that lays within these troubled souls. In this exposition I will illuminate these
appalling sins that affected Nancy. Of these circumstances is the Chauvinistic contempt that was
invoked upon Nancy.Where hence she was deathly afraid of her husband due to her infidelity and
how the racial social divides of the time affected her. I will discuss how these themes still affect us
today and why they were relevant during Nancy s time. I will elucidate and compare Nancy s life
with the women in the Middle Eastand how people s civil rights are disregarded and treat them like
there are no consequences; these dictating people have absolute dominion over these women and
are willing to go to any length to secure their domination.
The subjugation the white people had upon Nancy led her to a severe mortification which is the
fault of the white man s self appeasement. This exploitation was made relevant when Nancy said:
When are you going to pay me, white man? When are you going to pay me, white man? It s been
three times since you paid me a cent Mr Stovall knocked her down, but she kept on saying, When
are you going to pay me, white man? Its been three times since until Mr Stovall kicked

Bebbington s Quadrilateral Definition
It would be a misinterpretation of Bebbington s work to argue that he understood the evangelical
movement to be detached from the historical contexts. He developed his quadrilateral by surveying
a certain recognizable Christian faith group within the historical context of Modern Britain from
the 1730s to the 1980s. However, his definition itself is ahistorical. In other words, the strict
application of Bebbington s quadrilateral may result in the inclusion of the first century Christians,
who had a very high view of the Scripture, actively preached the gospel in the public square, who
cherished their own conversion moment as their core identity, and, most of all, who confessed Jesus
as their Lord and Savior. Indeed, John Stott traces the origin... Show more content on

Improper And Inadequate Development Of Water Resources Essay
The improper and inadequate development of water resources in poor countries is causing
damage to the essential ecosystem as well as greatly affecting the condition of the environment.
The water being collected and the water that is released back to the ecosystem are not even
comparable in any sense. The lack of treatment leading to increased release of harmful
contaminants directly into the rivers is clearly interrupting the ecosystem (Molden November
2012). Many from other rural areas are constantly migrating to the big cities to gain access to
fresh water and causing rapid urbanization, which is in turn becoming an even bigger threat to
the ecosystem. Under these situations, the economic condition of the Global South cannot be
improved, as this will be a continuous fight to remain on top. Thus a sustainable developmental
plan is necessary to gain back the control over fresh water. The paper will discuss a few major
issues with water and the environment, and try to suggest ways to improve the conditions for a
better future both environmentally and economically in the global south. Water and Economy
The seventh UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in 2001 said fierce competition for fresh water
may well become a source for conflict and wars in the future . While the World Economic Forum
listed water supply crisis as a top item in the list of global risks. A rapidly developing nation like

Comparing Aristotle s 8
Now the question is what values should one have to rule, what makes them qualified compared to
others. Plato outlines the different aspects of government and why he believes an aristocracy
would be better form of government. In book 8 Socrates starts to wrap up his depiction of a just
city. He starts to break down the four unjust constitutions of the city and man. Timocracy, which is
represented by the honor driven man who resembles and rules that sort of government. There is an
oligarchy, ruled by a man driven by his necessary appetites. Democracy, in which the man is
controlled by unnecessary appetites. And finally there is tyranny, which the man is driven by

In book 9 Plato discusses the aspects of the tyrannical man. He mentions that the tyrants are
someone who is consumed by lawless desires. One question I have is the tyrannical man
destined to be a tyrant because he has a noble democratic father? These desires lead men towards
ghastly, shameless, criminal actions that are particularly bad for someone in an position of
power. Socrates offers an example of a lawless desire is the desire to sleep with one s mother,
something that is horrible to do in any society. It is made clear that all of us have lawless
desires, which is indubitably true. The proof is that these desires occasionally come out at night,
in our dreams, when the rational part of us is not on guard. But only the tyrannical man allows
these desires to emerge in life while he is awake during the day. Plato s description continues, the
tyrannical man is the son of the democratic man. His father is not lawless, but he does indulge
unnecessary desires. Just like the father, the son is exposed to drones, men with lawless desires.
However the father had his own oligarchic father s thriftiness to pull him toward the middle road
of democracy. This is crucial for the balance one must have to be a ruler in society. Now this son
brought up on the democratic ethos, moves further toward lawlessness. The father and entire
household try to win him back, but the ultimate triumph of the lawless is inevitable. Based on

ABSTRACT: Wireless sensornetworks is a self configured network means any node can join it or
leave it at any time. it is a self healing and self organizing. Self healing networks allow nodes to
reconfigure their link associations and find other pathways around powered down nodes or failed
nodes. Self organizing allows a network automatically join new node without the need for manual
interference. In this paper, we are using actor nodes to solve energy hole problem so that we can
reduce energy consumption and can enhance throughput of network.

upper extremity?
Abstract
Background and Purpose. Stroke patients with visual neglect can be treated with mirror therapy to
improve neglect and function. Previous studies have shown improvement of neglect and function in
stroke patients who are given mirror therapy on the upper extremity only. This research will exam
whether mirror therapy of both the upper and lower extremity can show greater improvement than

A pilot study will be performed since no current research looking at the effect of mirror therapy
performed on stroke patients with neglect with primary outcome measures of SCT and LBT
have provided exact values of means with standard deviations between the groups. An effect size
of .50 will be used based on the study performed by Pandian et al. which looked at the effect of
mirror therapy performed on stroke patients with neglect and used similar primary outcome
measures as this study (Pandian) Therefore, with an effect size of .5, a sample size of 64
participants in each group will be needed. However, it is necessary to account for a predicted
attrition rate when recruiting participants. Based on the 12% attrition rate seen in the study
performed by Pandian et al., this study will start with an additional 8 participants per group with
the hope of maintaining 80% power and reducing the risk of a type II error. (Pandian) Therefore,
this study will begin with 72 participants in each group. An intention to treat analysis will be

Employee Relationships And Patient Satisfaction
Introduction
Employee engagement surveys are probably the most common way leaders can understand what
their employees are thinking about their jobs and the organization. Currently ninety two percent of
companies use this method. (Hadjistoyanova, 2016) In the healthcare setting there is a direct link
between employee attitudes and patient satisfaction. (Powell, 2001) Improving patient satisfaction
is critical. Hospital reimbursement rate from Medicare and Medicaid revolves around the Hospital
Consumer Assessment of Healthcare providers and Systems (HCAHPS), the federal system that
monitors patient satisfaction and patient readmission rate. (HCAHPS, 2016) Without employee
engagement, you re never going to get the kind of ultimate patient experience you re hoping for
says Mike Packnett, CEO of Parkview Health. (Kruse, 2015)
Employee satisfaction doesn t necessarily mean employees are engaged. Employees can be
happy, show up for work daily, but that doesn t mean they are being productive or mindful of
patient s needs. When employees are engaged, they care. Examples would be a hospital employee
making eye contact with visitors and patients, another would be a night shift worker being aware of
quiet time during their shift. (Kruse, 2015) Leaders need to know what drives employees
engagement. Leaders that behave consistently with the organizations core values and show a
sincere interest in the employee s well being have been a link to improving employee engagement.

private a need arose to help preserve wildlife resource for general public, through that need and the
efforts of hunter to preserve that access to everyone several legislative actions have been taken to
generate money to fund these efforts. On the national level the first legislation aimed towards
collection of taxes from hunting to fuel conservation and wild life management was the The
Pittman Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937. States have the most important stake in
funding conservation and wildlife management through the use of hunting license and game tags.

Nonsense Is Defined by Its Inability to be Defined Lewis...
The definition of nonsense has been debated throughout literature. Yet nonsense itself cannot be
defined, but rather it is defined by its inability to be defined. It s the destruction or defiance of the
norm that often leads to creation of nonsense. The language of nonsense itself is closely
intertwined with various techniques of style, structuralization and various motifs. Authors such as
Lewis Caroll in Alice and Wonderland and Edward Lear s The Complete Nonsense of Edward
Lear use such techniques to invoke the language of nonsense as well as to create nonsense within
their writing. Both Lewis Carroll and Edward Lear use the language of nonsense is also defined
by paradoxes, the play on stereotypes, and the usage of polysemy. Lewis... Show more content on

In such a structure, Lear creates a paradox in that he uses various stereotypes of each individual
that he chooses and breaks and defies that stereotype. In the creation of such limericks, Lear is
specific in choosing adjectives; he uses places such as Portugal , Madras , etc. In such places
there is an assumption of a stereotype of the individuals from those places, yet instead of
creating that stereotype he creates nonsensical actions for those individuals. Both Carroll and
Lear use polysemy throughout their nonsense. Polysemy can be defined as words or phrases
having multiple meanings. Carroll uses polysemy in the fact that the creatures often take
specific words for face value. For instance, the word mad has multiple meanings, it can either
mean angry or crazed. Carroll is very careful to create the mad hatter and the as mad as a March
hare as the same individual (Carroll). Yet it is in this matter that also fuels the nonsensical
element has the mad hatter becomes a paradox. Lear uses polysemy as well throughout his
limericks. For instance, There was an Old Person of Leeds/Whose head was infested with beads...
(Lear, 12). The word beads could refer to the things that jewelry is made of or a reference to ones
sanity (i.e. often called marbles in today s society). Such a play on words allow for the

Essay on William Morris
William Morris
William Morris (1834 1896) was perhaps the most important British decorative artist of the 19th
century. A prolific designer, craftsman and decorator, his work and ideas have had a major
influence on the development of modern interior design.
William Morris was one of the most influential figures in the
Victorian and Edwardian art world. As a young man at Oxford he became involved with the Pre
Raphaelite movements, mixing with such artists as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt
and Edward Coley
Burne Jones.
Always a man of innovation, Morris soon tired of the subject matter and philosophy of the Pre
Raphaelites. His desire for social reform was also an important factor in his artistic growth and he

Instead of using a genuine shade of indigo, the design was printed in a Prussian blue, the nearest to
indigo that could be achieved using modern aniline dyes. This led William Morris to speak out
against the capitalist forces, which he considered had brought his industry to a very bad state.
Henceforward there is an absolute divorce between the commercial process and the art of printing.
Anyone wanting to produce dyed textiles with any artistic quality in them must entirely forego the
modern and commercial methods in favour of those which are at least as old as Pliny...
In other words, William Morris ended his connection with Clarkson (who printed the design) and
abandoned production of Tulip and Willow. He also set up a tiny dye house in the basement and
scullery of his house in Queen Square, hoping that he might find his own solution to the problem.
In fact it was only in 1883, after he had established himself at Merton Abbey, that he was finally
able to produce a satisfactory printing of Tulip and Willow.
Preliminary Design
Morris s intricate flower patterns, which seem so effortless and casual in their final form, were
achieved after long hours of patient designing and the production of dozens of different designs.
This preliminary stage was important, as Morris recognised. In a lecture called Making the Best
of It , delivered in 1879, he offered these words of advice to potential designers: no amount of

Robert Gross s The Minutemen And Their World
The Minutemen and Their World, by Robert Gross focuses directly on life and struggles in
Concord in the seventeen hundreds. He provides a fresh outlook and new style that works to the
readers advantage. This style of writing separates Gross from many other writers. As other
writers deal with the colonies as a whole, Gross separates and investigates on a more specific
level. He focuses on the lives of the farmers and ordinary towns people. This inside out approach
allows the reader to see how decisions effected everyday life for ordinary people. Gross s
analytical style called new social history is compounded by primary documents and statistical
analysis of many records kept through out history. This is to the reader s advantage, because not
only does this it give us an accurate account of what happened in the 1700 s, but it also provides
numerical statistic to back up the authors presentation of the truth. Gross also writes in a story like
fashion that makes this book easy to read.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He explains that Concord has trouble staying united. The people of this city often don t agree on
important topics such as politics and religion. These topics were raised and discussed in town
meetings that were held in the center on the town. This posed a problem because Concords
population was scattered over many miles, and the trip to town became very tedious. This resulted
in the separation of the towns people and the foundation of multiple smaller communities that held
counsels of their own. These assemblies were not usually connected to the main counsel and did
not always fallow by the same rules. They often made rules that catered to their needs. Gross
believes that the problem lies on the leadership of

Language Barrier Is Not An Issue For Chinese Students
Every year, many international students, particularly those from China come to the United States in
pursuit of their higher education. Nonetheless, these international students desire and quest for
further education and a better future faces many hurdles, especially the hurdle of language barrier.
This research paper focuses on the issue of language barrier, and its limits of the potential of
Chinese international students studying in America. As will be discussed in this paper, besides
limiting their educational potential, language barrier also limits other aspects of these international
students stay in America, including their communication with the locals and accessing various
social places. This paper will also examine the assertion by the other side of the divide including
Chinese authorities and education stakeholders in China who claim that presently, language barrier
is not an issue for Chinese students. Thus, this research paper seeks to demystify the claims and
facts on this matter. Research reports have shown that that Asia, particularly China, is the leading
source of foreign students who come to the United Statesto pursue higher education. Researchers
however caution that the inability of Chinese students to communicate effectively in English is a
major cause of their lack of success in education, failure to exploit their potential fully, as well as
inability to enjoy their lives in the United States. Language barrier for these students hinders them

Cost of Free Music Downloading Essay
In 1999, Napster hit the scene with a peer to peer file sharing application that changed the world.
Within a year, millions of people were trading songs from a simple download. It didn t take long for
Metallica to sue Napster and to ban users from access. Napster was forced to shut down in 2001
(Mason). This opened the door; in the next few years, P2P networks and file sharingacross the
world grew exponentially. The torrent protocol and sites such as The Pirate Bay, Torrent Reactor
and TorrentSpy became very popular. This created a major problem as the financial loss from file
sharing escalated to billions of dollars. In the decade since Napster emerged, music sales in the

Purpose Of A Business Model For An E Procurement...
Introduction:
Executive Summary
The aim of this report is to help XYZ Micro Turbines better understand the opportunities and
challenges faced by leveraging an e Procurement marketplace to conduct business, whilst
maintaining a bespoke e business solution for their customers.
The internet and World Wide Web have changed how we conduct business for ever, the basics of
business remain the same, and a company with goods or services needs customers to purchase
from them. E business refers to a broader definition of E Commerce, not just the buying and selling
of goods and services, but also servicing customers, collaborating with business partners, and
conducting electronic transactions within the organization (Turban, et al., 2002). What makes e
business different is the scope and range of the business/customer relationship. There is no longer
the need for a face to face physical transaction to take place in order to procure goods or services.
Through the use of technology e business has revolutionised the way we think about and transact
business. Understanding the different type of business model available to organisations helps drive
their strategy. In this instance XYZ Micro Turbines wish to conduct business with its suppliers over
and established e Procurement marketplace yet create a bespoke e business solution for customer
purchases. This report aims to identify what XYZ Microturbines need to undertake to make sure

World War I During The World Of Russia
1) The Chechens have been a thorn in the side of Russia for centuries, with constant upsurges of
independence and oppression. Never the less, Chechnya was a useful thorn, located on the north

strategically vital to Russiafor two reasons. First, access routes to both the Black Sea and Caspian
Sea go through Chechnya, as well as oil and vital gas pipelines connecting Russia with Kazakhstan
and Azerbaijan.
The Chechens were the most active opponents of Russia s conquest (1818 1917) of the Caucasus.

The Resurrection Is The Redemption From Sin Through Christ...
According to theologian Maja Weyermann, the resurrection is the redemption from sin through
Christ and therefore the nullification of death. In his biblical epistles to the Corinthians and the
Romans, the apostle Paul considers how the acts of Jesus Christ purge humanity of the previous
exploits of Adam, bringing salvation and life to all where there was previously sin and death. The
initial parallels that Paul draws between Adam and JesusChrist became the building blocks by
which church fathers developed their own soteriology and theories of recapitulation. The most
famous of which is St. Irenaeus of Lyons, whose writings developed an early understanding of
Christian theology in the late second century. Drawing on Paul s biblical writings, Irenaeus further
developed his theory of atonement, or recapitulation, that focuses on the idea of a do over that
undoes previously committed sin. Based on the theological assertions made by Paul and Irenaeus,
recapitulation in the greater doctrine of salvation is achieved through Christ as the second Adam,
the Virgin Maryas the second Eve, and the Church as the second Eden.
The central claims concerning recapitulation are found in the Pauline epistles of First Corinthians
and Romans in the New Testament. The first biblical discussion of Paul s doctrine of salvation is
found in 1 Corinthians 15. Paul claims, For since death came through a human being, the
resurrection of the dead came also through a human being. For just as in

Senior Sergeant Christopher Hurley to the Palm Island watch house (Hurley v. Clements Ors

The court documents state that if the matter of swearing had proceeded to prosecution, whether the
swearing had actually occurred would have been brought into question (Hurley v. Clements Ors
(2008). Queensland statistics show that 2,792 Indigenous Australians were arrested for public order
offences for the year 2015 2016, compared with 5,991 for non Indigenous Australians. This is
rather alarming given that only four per cent of people aged over ten years old identify as
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Queensland (ABS, 2017). The Australian Bureau of
Statistics reports the age standardised offender rates per 100,000 for persons over the age of ten
identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander for 2015 2016 is 9,576 compared with 1,882 for
non Indigenous Australians (ABS, 2017). Information in the court documents indicate that Mulrunji
became agitated after being arrested, becoming violent once arriving at the police station and
subsequently assaulting Senior Sergeant Hurley while being taken from the paddy wagon into the
police station. Senior Sergeant Hurley s discretionary decision to arrest Mulrunji for a public
nuisance offence had dire consequences resulting in a violent altercation and a subsequent death. It
is an unfortunate reality that Indigenous Australians are over represented in our criminal justice

the western regions of Germany, support has nowadays been coming from other areas with

How Did Gandhi Influence British Imperialism
Throughout modern history, Britain s exponential growth inevitably affected the future of many
nations in the contemporary world in particular, the culturally intertwined state of India. Even in the
initial stages of colonisation, India was forcefully occupied by the British East India Company;
however, it was not until 1858 that a dictatorship was officially announced and the nation was
forced to regard England as the true homeland . Amidst societal unease and a growing discontent
with the British rulers by the poor peasants, India s emancipation seemed inevitable in order for the
nation to truly progress. In effect, a revolutionary leader spawned; Mohandas Gandhi. His great
philosophical mind held innovative ideas which were instrumental in the achievement of Indian
Independence with his thoughtful ideologies and beliefs paving the way for oppressed Indians to
ultimately unite against British imperialism. Consequently, this resulted in the monumental
Satyagraha campaign that triumphed successfully against the British authorities. In spite of fierce
British opposition to India s pleas for self governance, Gandhi continually pressed for a peaceful

that with its new 4 cylinder eco boost engine, sales will tend to increase. In a car market ruled by
electric cars and hybrid cars, today s society is preferring miles per gallon over everything. The

considered an actual object, Dewey Dell within the book As I Lay Dying uses this to achieve a

particular function is to get rid of her brother Darl. Dewey Dell is the daughter of Anse and Addie

The first person that Dewey Dell betrays is her brother Darl. Dewey Dell and Darl were very
close according to their brother Cash before Dewey Dell became pregnant. Cash says, And then I
always kind of had an idea that him and Dewey Dell kind of knowed things betwixt them
(Faulkner 237). Although Cash believes that they were close before, their relationship changed.
Darl towards the end of the book burns Samson s barn with his mother s coffin in it. Dewey Dell
knows that he did this. When they get to the town of Jefferson to bury their mother, Dewey Dell
turns in her brother Darl to the police. . . . but when them fellows told him what they wanted and
that they had come to get him and he throwed back, she jumped on him like a wild cat . . .
(Faulkner 237). Dewey Dell not only turns Darl in, but she helps the police tackle him to the
ground. This is a major relationship change from what Cash had expressed. She betrays Darl by
telling the police. She could have kept it to herself and not told anyone, but instead she decides to
notify the police of his wrong doings.
Addie betrayed her husband Anse and this influenced Dewey Dell to tattle on her brother Darl.

lanterns towered and leaned above. Simon rolled his mom to the small window to watch and
preoccupy her with the passing pedestrians. In this cluttered small, apartment above their shop is
where she spent most of her days, alone.
Simon plodded down the creaking steps of their apartment, descending into the eclectic antique shop
where he busied himself with the tasks (and his recent takes) of the day. Simon shifted about the

Simon s soul was still with the small woman trapped in a maze of smoke and mirrors.
The floorboards creaked in response as Simons mother wheeled back and forth, from the window
and back to the head of the stairs. Her sad eyes glinted in the dusky light.
She hadn t eaten all day and had to use the bathroom, but where was Simon?
Simon s soul felt heavy, and wet like he was wearing wool and decided to go for a swim. The
darkness pushed in on him. Shapes appeared, forming larger than life images of the things he had
stolen. He was filled with an overwhelming sense of guilt.
The smoky voice interrupted his berating monologue, I ll make a deal with you .
His hair lay flat as he turned about in a crazed frenzy. Ok... I I mean yes.
His eyes widened in disbelief as the voice echoed her proposition.
He floated about in the unsettling situation, and finally made a choice.
You can take it, just make sure she s okay...
A deal is a deal. The voice slithered through the thick darkness.
Simon never came back home. His mother gave up for the day and went to bed. The next day a
small Asian woman came into Simon and his mother s house. She made breakfast and woke the
mother and explained, Simon sent me. We had a

Implanting RFID in Employees
Human capital is a corporation s most valuable asset, and effective management of its resources
is a primary concern of any business. Employers spend a considerable amount of time trying to
decrease wasted time by their chief resource while effectively increasing productivity. Recently,
management challenged us to suggest ways to use modern technology to covertly evaluate and
quantifiably measure worker productivity. Because of the recent revelations of governmental
overreach in spying on Americans disclosed by NSA contractor, Edward Snowden, the dichotomy
between spying and privacy is front and center in the public s consciousness. Surveillance
programs do not solely exist in national security; surveillance techniques have been coopted by
business to monitor and track employees. As George Orwell observed in 1984, the consequences
of every act are included in the act itself (1949, p. 36).
In 2007, a survey by the American Management Association and ePolicy Institute that 77% of
employers engage in some form of electronic monitoring of employees (American Management
Association, 2008). The reason for monitoring primarily consist of tracking employee productivity,
legal compliance, and to help assist in performance reviews. Understanding how the fourth
amendment guarantees individual privacy underscores the need for caution in advocating Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in tracking onsite and offsite employees.
RFID, about the size of a grain of sand, is a

Jonathan Edwards s Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God
No one s ever gonna love you more than God, your mama and me. These country lyrics by
Florida Georgia Line portray their views of God as extremely loving and caring, however Jonathan
Edwards has a much different understanding of God. In the short story, Sinners in the Hands of an
Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, he views Godas strict, oppressive and willing to take action
through the imagery he uses regarding wind, fire and insects in nature.
Wind can be devastating to humans and the destruction can be impressively horrific, which has
been proven throughout history time and time again. Edward depicts the power God has at his
disposal through a storm with intense winds by preaching, The sovereign pleasure of God, for the
present, stays ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edwards paints a picture in people s minds of a fire by exclaiming, His wrath towards you like
fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire; he is of purer eyes
than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his
eyes, than the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours (Edwards 3). Edwards paints this
picture to display how ruthless God is and how willing he is to take action against the humans
who are despicable to him. From Edward s point of view towards God, he depicts how God is
willing to take action without a second thought against humans and watch them become
engulfed in flames. In the same way Edwards paints this picture of fire, he creates a more
horrific image when he spoke, O sinner! Consider the fearful danger you are in: it is a great
furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in
the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as many of the
damned in Hell. (Edwards 3). As stated before, God would be willing to take action against
humans and cause agony without a second thought by simply letting them slip through his fingers
into the pit of fire that Edwards describes. This more frightful imagery of the pit of fire described
also shows how strict God is because if humans continue their sinful lives, God can simply drop

Atherosclerosis Essay
What are some types of heart and blood vessel diseases? HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES, or
atherosclerosis, is when the inner walls of arteries become narrower due to a buildup of plaque
(usually caused by a diet high in fat, cigarette smoking, diabetes or hypertension). This limits the
flow of blood to the heartand brain. Sometimes, this plaque can break open. When this happens, a
blood clot forms and blocks the artery. This can cause heart attacks and strokes. HIGH BLOOD
PRESSURE, also called hypertension, means the pressure in your arteries is consistently above
the normal range. Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. It s
written as two numbers, such as 122/78 mm Hg. The top number (systolic) is the pressure... Show

Flashbulb Memory Research Paper
A flashbulb memory is an exceptionally clear reflection of an important event (openstax 8.2). In
most instances, people can recall the weather, what they were wearing, dialogue, etc.
A personal flashbulb memory I have is the day my grandpa died. That day July 10, 2012 I visited
my grandparent s house. It was just a quick visit to drop off some dishes because we were headed
to vacation bible school. Every time I leave my grandparent s house, I give both of them a hug, but
I was in such a rush that I did not that day. Immediately after VBS, we got the call that my grandpa
was in the hospital. He had died of a heart attack. It was completely unexpected. We drove straight to
the hospital. When we arrived, my grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins

Water Symbolism In Open Boat
The men in Crane s Open Boat experienced an emotional rollercoaster by feeling hopeless,
determined and exhausted. Lost at sea in a small boat with waves the size of mountains. Land is
no where to be found and help could be days away. Constant thoughts racing through one s mind
about if they will sink or swim. From the beginning of the story, as the men had to change boats
from their ship to a fairly small rowboat, their hope began to fade. To make matters any worse, a
storm began and it brought strong, high waves along with it which overtopped the boat many
times during their journey to find refuge and at times, the men thought they were going to die at
sea from drowning in the frigid waters.. As they venture the sea, they stumbled upon people that
appeared to be waving at them as if they were trying to help. By this point, the men are desperate
for any help they can receive and they notice a man waving a coat at them as if he was signaling
to the men. The men thought they had found help only to be disappointed that they were only
regular people on the beach. As the day progressed and the search for help continued, the narrator

exhaustion played a tremendous role in the emotional journey the men endured. When one
exchanged the rowing seat for a place in the bottom of the boat, he suffered a bodily depression
that caused him to be careless of everything and save an obligation to wiggle one finger. This quote
expresses the physical exhaustion the men endured from rowing constantly until they couldn t row
any more to survive through the sleepless night. The mental exhaustion arises with the hopelessness
of being rescued, thinking that everything they see is a signal of help being on the way when in all
actuality, they are alone and

Number Systems Complex NumbersThe earliest reference to complex numbers is from Hero of
Alexandria s work Stereometrica in the 1st century AD, where he contemplates the volume of a
frustum of a pyramid.
The proper study first came about in the 16th century when algebraic answers for roots of cubics
and quartics were revealed by Italian mathematicians Tartaglia and Cardano. For example, Tartaglia
s formula for a cubic equation x^3=x gives the solution as 1/в€
љ3 ((в€
љ( 1))^(1/3)+1/(в€
љ( 1))^(1
/3) ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the treatment of resistors, capacitors, and inductors are unified by combining them in
a single complex number called the impedance, which is the measure of the opposition that a
circuit presents to a current when a certain voltage is applied.
AlgebraThe Quadratic FormulaEarly methods for solving quadratic equations were purely
geometric.
Babylonian tablets contained problems which could be reduced to solving quadratic equations. The
Egyptian Berlin Papyrus (2050 1650 BC) contains the solution to a two term quadratic equation.
Euclid (300 BC) used geometric methods to solve quadratic equations in his book Elements.
In Arithmetica, Diophantus (250 BC) solved quadratic equations with methods which more closely
resembled algebra. However, his solution only gave one root, even when both roots are positive.
Brahmagupta (597 668 AD) explicitly described the quadratic formula in words instead of symbols
in Brahmasphutasiddhanta in 628 AD. His solution of ax^2+bx=c equated to the formula:
x=(в€
љ(4ac+b^2 ) b)/2a
In the 9th century, Persian mathematician al Khwarizmi solved quadratic equations algebraically.
The quadratic formula which covered all cases was first described by Simon Stevin in 1594.
The quadratic formula that we know today was published by Rene Descartes in La Geometrie in
1637.
The first appearance of the general solution in modern mathematical literature was in an 1896 paper

What Is The Wildlife Innovation And Longevity Driver (...
Overview and Mandated Provisions
The Wildlife Innovation and Longevity Driver (WILD) Act was introduced with the aim of
improving and maintaining global biodiversity by addressing four critical issues: habitat loss,
invasive species, and wildlife poaching/trafficking. The WILD Act addresses these issues through
four provisions: 1) establishing the Theodore Roosevelt Genius Prizes, 2) reauthorizing the
Multinational Species Conservation Funds (MSCF), 3) amending the Fish and Wildlife
Coordination Act (FWCA), and 4) reauthorizing the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program
(PFWP) (S. 826 WILD Act, 2017).

This report presents three program design options to fill that gap.
Program Design Core: A National Plan for Invasive Species Management
All program design options will include:
The National Invasive Species Council (NISC) s guidelines for Early Detection and Rapid
Response (EDRR), to fulfill the bill s requirement for prevention of invasive species introduction
and spread (Norton, Veneman, and Evans, 2003)
Consideration of feasibility and cost effectiveness of management techniques, as indicated through
results of prior implementation
The development of a strategic plan for 9 federal departments and 5 federal agencies to address
both economic and ecological harm from invasive species
Program Option 1: Prioritization by Economic Cost of Damages
This program design creates the national plan for invasive species management by prioritizing
resource allocation toward targeting those invasive species that cause the greatest cost in the
form of monetary damage. This method will use the US Fish and Wildlife Service s estimates for
economic losses caused by invasive species (Pimentel, Zuniga, and Morrison, 2005). Such costs
include the cost to repair damaged infrastructure such as water systems and power grids, the loss
of food crops outcompeted by invasive species, and lost local income when invasive species

The Extermination Of The Holocaust
In October, 1941 SS General Odilo Globocnik was authorized to institute a plan to systematically
murder all Jews residing in the Generalgouvernement. This project received the code name of
Operation Reinhard. To accomplish this elimination of approximately 2 million Jews, Globocnik
created a Department on his staff. SS Major Hermann Hofle coordinated the deportation of the
Jews to three killing centers in German occupied Poland: Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka II. A
small minority of Jews were used as forced laborers prior to killing them. These Jews were
transported to Operation Reinhard labor camps and to the Lublin/Majdanek concentration camp.

Up to 6 million Jews, two thirds of the Jews living in Europe in 1939, were executed as a result
of the Final Solution. Railroads were the essential link to the killing process. Trains carrying
human cargo from every corner of Nazi occupied Europe rolled into death camps. The death
camps were strategically positioned along major rail lines. At Auschwitz alone there were 44
parallel tracks at the train station. A special spur was built to run directly into the exit ramp at
Birkenau. The Jews were transported to the death camps in cattle cars and freight cars. Initially,
there were three forms of deportation. The first one was when the Jews were moved from cities
and towns to transit camps or ghettos. Secondly, they were transported from smaller ghettos to
larger ones. However, from 1942 on, the only deportation that existed was the trip to one of the
six major killing centers, i.e., Auschwitz Birkenau, Majdanek, Chelmno, Treblinka, Belzec, and
Sobibor. The train trip was long. The sealed cattle cars held 80 to 100 people. In the summer
they were suffocatingly hot and unheated and freezing cold in the winter. There were very few
provisions for food and water. They provided a bucket for bodily needs. They were forced to sit in
urine and feces. When they arrived, they were grateful thinking the worst was over and behind
them. Little did they know their ordeal was just beginning. There were more than 9,000 camps for
different purposes

Unit 1 Explain And Define The Following Components
Explain and define the following components
Hard drive A hard drive is a non volatile memory device used to store data permanently and
retrieve the same. A hard drive can store different types of data including text, graphics, audio,
video, etc. A hard drive works by using platters on which data is written with the help of a
magnetic head. The platters and head are encased in an air sealed case. Hard disks used inside
computers are called internal hard disks and are located in a drive bay; they use ATA, SATA, or
SCSI cables to connect to the motherboard. They derive power from the PSU (Power Supply Unit).
RAM Random Access Memory (RAM) is accessed randomly (without accessing preceding
memory bytes) by computers. Since data is read randomly, RAM is much faster to read from and
write to than other memory devices. RAM is volatile and can contain data only till the computer is
powered on, it loses data once the computer is powered off. RAM is called the primary memory
and is used to load parts of the operating system and drivers during device boot up. The most
common types of RAM include Dynamic RAM (DRAM) and Static RAM (SRAM).
ROM Read Only Memory (ROM) is a computer memory which contains pre loaded data. This data

Major Environmental Problems Plaguing Louisiana
Environment, a term used to describe the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or
plant lives or operates. Major environmental problems plaguing Louisiana include flooding, but also
pollution and wetland loss. Presently, Louisiana and the city of Baton Rouge are dealing with
dangerous floodlevels. According to (Yan et al., 2016), a Red Cross member stated that the
catastrophic flooding in Louisianais the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since
Hurricane Sandy two years ago (para. 1). Louisiana anticipates it will cost $30 million in relief
funds to repair flood damages (Yan et al., 2016). More than 7 trillion gallons of water fell in
Louisiana and Mississippiover the course of eight days (Sergent et al., 2016). There have been at
least 13 deaths recorded and over 40,000 homes have been destroyed. Rainfall numbers in double
digits from a storm can bring havoc to an area, thus triggering rivers to ascend swiftly, and exceed
flood levels (Dolce, 2016). There are some remedies for preventing... Show more content on

According to (O Donoghue, 2016), Gerry Stoler said this is going to be a very long recovery. More
than 482 law enforcement officers were affected. More than 150 of the sheriff office s patrol cars
were also damaged so badly during the flood that they can t be used anymore (O Donoghue, 2016).
Although Louisiana has recently experienced a great loss in natural habitats, homes, and wetlands,
rehabilitation is still possible. The Baton Rouge area has pushed through the initial three stages:
devastation, rescue and shock and awe. Now they are working their way through the next five:
community spirit, restlessness, the blame game, politics and embracing big government. The last
four stages include picking up the pieces, where does the region go, road to recovery and the new
normal. It takes time, but the community will

The Problem Of Food Insecurity Essay
Food insecurity has been affecting the US population as about more than 23 million Americans,
including 6.5 million children, live in low income urban and rural neighborhoods that are more than
a mile from a supermarket. These communities are much known since they lack access to
affordable, nutritious food. Vault and healthy food should be affordable; policy or a plan that would
improve our food supply or the health of the population should be put into consideration in order to
enhance the American population s public health.
It is known that food insecurity is one of the major issues in the United States. Politicians have a
great role to reform and speak for the rights of those who do not have a voice. Towns play an
important role in providing access to healthy and affordable food. Establishing a food Security
Council may offer lots of help; and by nominating representatives to speak and consider all the
issues, discuss them, and decide on what s best for the public. This law may enhance and improve
in order to fight obesity in children and adolescents.
Researchers and experts who have their underlying foundations running somewhere down in the
battle against craving are endeavoring day by day and looking for resolutions to these issues.
Legislative and non administrative offices have joined to give help and administrations to families
and people needing sustenance and safe spots to devour a sound dinner. Answers for closure this
plague are centered around precaution

The Extinction, Endangerment, And Captivity Of Endangered...
Should we worry about the extinction, endangerment, and captivity of endangered species? That is
the pressing question that seems to bug all environmentalists and scientists are stressing over, how
long will it take for all of your animals to die out? And is it something we can stop or at least
contain meanwhile we are trying to find the long term solution for.
Can we prevent this from happening all together? Or is it far too late to save our species that are
dying out? We should worry about the extinction, endangerment and captivity of endangered species
because every animal is vital to their own ecosystems and keeps everything balanced.
Without balance, surely all of the ecosystems will collapse in on itself. What is a species? What
exactly is an endangered species? What is an extinct species? How have these species come to
the point of becoming endangered or extinct? What can we do to save the endangered species that
are near extinction? Can we actually do anything to save these species, or is it a lost cause? Why
should I care?
Most people do not know the answer to many of those questions. As much attention as this subject
gets from environmental groups and agencies, it gets just as much ignoring by the general public.
Many people feel compelled to help or contribute; yet few seldom do carry out their intentions. This
is a very serious subject that needs to receive immediate and full attention from the general public.
Only they can truly make a difference. The concept

  • 3. What The Homestead Act Is Through Its Powerpoint Slideshow... I found a great lesson to work off of for my lesson plan on history of the Homestead Act. The original lesson was well organized but very short. I chose to focus on Domain 2 Conceptual Understandings because this lesson plan only had one assessment and I felt that the assessment was weak in whether a teacher could gage students understanding of the material. This lesson did a below average job of explaining what the Homestead Actis through its powerpoint slideshow and worksheet activities. I also didn t like how the lesson plan was designed to show a video clip of the Western Expansion at the very end of the lecture. I feel that by showing this video is pointless and students might lose interest by the end of the lesson. Overall, I agree with the lesson objective but modified it to make it fit my lesson. I also thought that the opening question was a good way to start a discussion of what the Homestead Act is and why settlers moved west. I think this question really gets students thinking and is a great segway to the powerpoint lecture. After the class discussion the lesson plan went right into the the powerpoint lecture. I think this is a great next step but the powerpoint was very dry and boring. There is no way a class of 4th graders could sit for 20 minutes listening to the provided powerpoint. The worksheet packet is a great idea but it did not follow along with the powerpoint and at points is confusing. I believe if a teacher is going to provide a worksheet packet ... The European Union law has had a big impact on how the UK law monitor their water pollution as there are now specific standards that have to be adhered to as the government are now monitored and measured. The EU first regarded water pollution as an important matter in 1973 and have been introducing new directives since. The directives have looked at a number of topics referring to water pollution. In 2000 the European Commission produced The Water Framework Directive 2000 /60/EC (WFD) legislation as a major driver for achieving sustainable management of water in the UK and other EU member states for many years to come. The WFD requests that all inland and coastal waters within river basin districts must reach at least good status by 2015 and states how this should be reached through the establishment of environmental objectives and ecological goals for surface waters. • 6. How Did Emily Dickinson s Life Influence Her Poetry Emily Dickinson Her Life and Poetry Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born December 10, 1830, into an influential family in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her father helped found Amherst College, where Emily later attended between 1840 and 1846. She never married and died in the house where she was born on May 15, 1886. Emily Dickinson s reclusive life was arguably a result of her proposed bi polar disorder. This life and disorder unduly influenced the themes of her poetry. She chose not to associate herself with society and volumes of her poems, published posthumously, examine this idea as well as the themes of nature and death. The clearest examples of these themes are presented in the following analysis of just of few of her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem conjures images of a solemn ceremony in which the soul reigns superior by shutting out everyone, including the emperor, similar to the shutting out of everyone that Dickinson did. In one of Dickinson s most famous poems, I heard a Fly buzz, the theme of death is presented as well as a symptomatic characteristic of bi polar disorder. The poem itself epitomizes her preoccupation with death and the macabre and also shows how the small, normally ignorable sound of a fly buzzing becomes the only thing heard, she magnifies this sound in a situation when it seems that everything else is much more important, but this inability to drown out extraneous noises is typical of someone suffering from manic depression. The form of this poem employs all of Dickinson s formal patterns: trimeter and tetrameter iambic lines, her specific use of the dash to interrupt the meter of the poem, and it is in ABCB rhyme scheme. Two of Dickinson s universal techniques are metaphor and the fresh application of language; both techniques result in powerful images, and can be seen in two of her poems that focus on nature themes, A Bird came down the Walk and narrow Fellow. She closes the poem, A Bird with a stanza equating flight through the air with movement through water, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My mother would get very upset when I brought up their divorce, because of this I felt like I couldn t ask her all the questions running through my head. Instead of asking questions I started to create stories in my head of what happened. The stories consisted of how my dad had met my stepmom. Why they decided to run away to Mardi Gras. Why my dad specifically left the note in the bathroom. Over time the stories changed my mind of how I viewed my new stepmom. The youngest of three children, both more than six years older than her, she had a tremendous amount of freedom (Molina). She lived through the turbulent 1960 s noticing how new circumstances caused by the Vietnam war influenced the behavior of those around her and how these changes developed as time passed. This close observation of what people went through and how it shaped them had a large influence on what would become her creative basis not only for fabricating the costume design for productions, but also for directing many theatrical, film, and opera works. After producing her first theatrical work at age seven in her backyard, Taymor began to go to the Boston Children s Theatre where she studied acting. • 11. Analysis Of Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir In Simone De Beauvoir Second Sex, the author aims to define what it is be a woman. It is difficult to pin down the definition of something that has a multitude of meanings to different people. The author makes the claim that although someone is female they may not identify as a woman. In an effort to define women, men have made the comparison against themselves. The essence of woman through the eyes of men is purely a sexual being. The Man views himself as the superior being while only viewing women in terms of personal benefit. De Beauvoir goes on to state a man can imagine himself without a woman yet, a woman cannot imagine herself without man. Not much has changed when it comes to the core argument that on a subconscious level men view... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Weinstein scandal, numerous celebrities came forward stating they heard about rumors involving weinstein but never the full extent. Too often people, men in particular, are willing to protect the abuser because it is easier to ignore the situation altogether. Harvey Weinstein had female assistants who would bring actresses to the disgraced producer knowing he would put the young actress in an uncomfortable position. Downplaying the oppression of women will only make it more difficult for there to be true gender equality. Gender equality can also be expanded to the many genders that people choose to identify with today. All genders other than the Man are currently seen as second class citizens. Once the subconscious gender oppression ceases to play a role in our work and social environments, genders can finally be equal. Nancy s Affliction in William FaulknerГ±s That Evening Sun The exploitation of Nancy s racial stature in William Faulkner s That Evening Sun is one of the world s most deeply saddening, unavoidable truths that we have faced since the dawn of civilization. These racial indignities have provoked the masses to violence which that is stemmed from the ignorance that lays within these troubled souls. In this exposition I will illuminate these appalling sins that affected Nancy. Of these circumstances is the Chauvinistic contempt that was invoked upon Nancy.Where hence she was deathly afraid of her husband due to her infidelity and how the racial social divides of the time affected her. I will discuss how these themes still affect us today and why they were relevant during Nancy s time. I will elucidate and compare Nancy s life with the women in the Middle Eastand how people s civil rights are disregarded and treat them like there are no consequences; these dictating people have absolute dominion over these women and are willing to go to any length to secure their domination. The subjugation the white people had upon Nancy led her to a severe mortification which is the fault of the white man s self appeasement. This exploitation was made relevant when Nancy said: When are you going to pay me, white man? When are you going to pay me, white man? He developed his quadrilateral by surveying a certain recognizable Christian faith group within the historical context of Modern Britain from the 1730s to the 1980s. However, his definition itself is ahistorical. In other words, the strict application of Bebbington s quadrilateral may result in the inclusion of the first century Christians, who had a very high view of the Scripture, actively preached the gospel in the public square, who cherished their own conversion moment as their core identity, and, most of all, who confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior. • 14. Improper And Inadequate Development Of Water Resources Essay The improper and inadequate development of water resources in poor countries is causing damage to the essential ecosystem as well as greatly affecting the condition of the environment. The water being collected and the water that is released back to the ecosystem are not even comparable in any sense. The lack of treatment leading to increased release of harmful contaminants directly into the rivers is clearly interrupting the ecosystem (Molden November 2012). Many from other rural areas are constantly migrating to the big cities to gain access to fresh water and causing rapid urbanization, which is in turn becoming an even bigger threat to the ecosystem. Under these situations, the economic condition of the Global South cannot be improved, as this will be a continuous fight to remain on top. Thus a sustainable developmental plan is necessary to gain back the control over fresh water. The paper will discuss a few major issues with water and the environment, and try to suggest ways to improve the conditions for a better future both environmentally and economically in the global south. Water and Economy The seventh UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in 2001 said fierce competition for fresh water may well become a source for conflict and wars in the future . One question I have is the tyrannical man destined to be a tyrant because he has a noble democratic father? These desires lead men towards ghastly, shameless, criminal actions that are particularly bad for someone in an position of power. Socrates offers an example of a lawless desire is the desire to sleep with one s mother, something that is horrible to do in any society. It is made clear that all of us have lawless desires, which is indubitably true. The proof is that these desires occasionally come out at night, in our dreams, when the rational part of us is not on guard. But only the tyrannical man allows these desires to emerge in life while he is awake during the day. Plato s description continues, the tyrannical man is the son of the democratic man. His father is not lawless, but he does indulge unnecessary desires. Just like the father, the son is exposed to drones, men with lawless desires. However the father had his own oligarchic father s thriftiness to pull him toward the middle road of democracy. This is crucial for the balance one must have to be a ruler in society. Now this son brought up on the democratic ethos, moves further toward lawlessness. The father and entire household try to win him back, but the ultimate triumph of the lawless is inevitable. ABSTRACT: Wireless sensornetworks is a self configured network means any node can join it or leave it at any time. it is a self healing and self organizing. Self healing networks allow nodes to reconfigure their link associations and find other pathways around powered down nodes or failed nodes. Self organizing allows a network automatically join new node without the need for manual interference. In this paper, we are using actor nodes to solve energy hole problem so that we can reduce energy consumption and can enhance throughput of network. Keywords: WSN, AODV, Energy holes, routing, energy consumption I.INTRODUCTION A wireless ad hoc network is the collection of mobile nodes, without any requirement of centralized access point. Every node in the network, act as a router and packet forwarder. Now days, the ad hoc networking is used for the commercial uses. There are the many applications of the ad hoc networks, ad hoc network are using in the military and it is also using for the other security operations. Currently ninety two percent of companies use this method. (Hadjistoyanova, 2016) In the healthcare setting there is a direct link between employee attitudes and patient satisfaction. (Powell, 2001) Improving patient satisfaction is critical. Hospital reimbursement rate from Medicare and Medicaid revolves around the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare providers and Systems (HCAHPS), the federal system that monitors patient satisfaction and patient readmission rate. (HCAHPS, 2016) Without employee engagement, you re never going to get the kind of ultimate patient experience you re hoping for says Mike Packnett, CEO of Parkview Health. (Kruse, 2015) Employee satisfaction doesn t necessarily mean employees are engaged. Employees can be happy, show up for work daily, but that doesn t mean they are being productive or mindful of patient s needs. When employees are engaged, they care. Examples would be a hospital employee making eye contact with visitors and patients, another would be a night shift worker being aware of quiet time during their shift. Yet nonsense itself cannot be defined, but rather it is defined by its inability to be defined. It s the destruction or defiance of the norm that often leads to creation of nonsense. The language of nonsense itself is closely intertwined with various techniques of style, structuralization and various motifs. Authors such as Lewis Caroll in Alice and Wonderland and Edward Lear s The Complete Nonsense of Edward Lear use such techniques to invoke the language of nonsense as well as to create nonsense within their writing. In such a structure, Lear creates a paradox in that he uses various stereotypes of each individual that he chooses and breaks and defies that stereotype. In the creation of such limericks, Lear is specific in choosing adjectives; he uses places such as Portugal , Madras , etc. In such places there is an assumption of a stereotype of the individuals from those places, yet instead of creating that stereotype he creates nonsensical actions for those individuals. Both Carroll and Lear use polysemy throughout their nonsense. Polysemy can be defined as words or phrases having multiple meanings. Carroll uses polysemy in the fact that the creatures often take specific words for face value. For instance, the word mad has multiple meanings, it can either mean angry or crazed. Carroll is very careful to create the mad hatter and the as mad as a March hare as the same individual (Carroll). • 30. The Resurrection Is The Redemption From Sin Through Christ... According to theologian Maja Weyermann, the resurrection is the redemption from sin through Christ and therefore the nullification of death. In his biblical epistles to the Corinthians and the Romans, the apostle Paul considers how the acts of Jesus Christ purge humanity of the previous exploits of Adam, bringing salvation and life to all where there was previously sin and death. The initial parallels that Paul draws between Adam and JesusChrist became the building blocks by which church fathers developed their own soteriology and theories of recapitulation. The most famous of which is St. Irenaeus of Lyons, whose writings developed an early understanding of Christian theology in the late second century. Drawing on Paul s biblical writings, Irenaeus further developed his theory of atonement, or recapitulation, that focuses on the idea of a do over that undoes previously committed sin. Based on the theological assertions made by Paul and Irenaeus, recapitulation in the greater doctrine of salvation is achieved through Christ as the second Adam, the Virgin Maryas the second Eve, and the Church as the second Eden. The central claims concerning recapitulation are found in the Pauline epistles of First Corinthians and Romans in the New Testament. Queensland statistics show that 2,792 Indigenous Australians were arrested for public order offences for the year 2015 2016, compared with 5,991 for non Indigenous Australians. This is rather alarming given that only four per cent of people aged over ten years old identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Queensland (ABS, 2017). Information in the court documents indicate that Mulrunji became agitated after being arrested, becoming violent once arriving at the police station and subsequently assaulting Senior Sergeant Hurley while being taken from the paddy wagon into the police station. Senior Sergeant Hurley s discretionary decision to arrest Mulrunji for a public nuisance offence had dire consequences resulting in a violent altercation and a subsequent death. While the campaign has been quiet thus far, the results are expected to be one of the biggest turning points in German history. The CDU stands for the Christian Democratic Union of Germany. Angela Merkel is the current leader of this center right political group. While this group typically receives support from catholic areas in the western regions of Germany, support has nowadays been coming from other areas with different or no religious backgrounds. Angela Merkel is a prime example of this as she is the leader of this group and yet is a protestant from East Germany. This group is the one presently in control. • 36. How Did Gandhi Influence British Imperialism Throughout modern history, Britain s exponential growth inevitably affected the future of many nations in the contemporary world in particular, the culturally intertwined state of India. Even in the initial stages of colonisation, India was forcefully occupied by the British East India Company; however, it was not until 1858 that a dictatorship was officially announced and the nation was forced to regard England as the true homeland . Amidst societal unease and a growing discontent with the British rulers by the poor peasants, India s emancipation seemed inevitable in order for the nation to truly progress. In effect, a revolutionary leader spawned; Mohandas Gandhi. His great philosophical mind held innovative ideas which were instrumental in the achievement of Indian Independence with his thoughtful ideologies and beliefs paving the way for oppressed Indians to ultimately unite against British imperialism. Consequently, this resulted in the monumental Satyagraha campaign that triumphed successfully against the British authorities. Recently, management challenged us to suggest ways to use modern technology to covertly evaluate and quantifiably measure worker productivity. Because of the recent revelations of governmental overreach in spying on Americans disclosed by NSA contractor, Edward Snowden, the dichotomy between spying and privacy is front and center in the public s consciousness. Surveillance programs do not solely exist in national security; surveillance techniques have been coopted by business to monitor and track employees. These country lyrics by Florida Georgia Line portray their views of God as extremely loving and caring, however Jonathan Edwards has a much different understanding of God. In the short story, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards, he views Godas strict, oppressive and willing to take action through the imagery he uses regarding wind, fire and insects in nature. Edwards paints this picture to display how ruthless God is and how willing he is to take action against the humans who are despicable to him. From Edward s point of view towards God, he depicts how God is willing to take action without a second thought against humans and watch them become engulfed in flames. In the same way Edwards paints this picture of fire, he creates a more horrific image when he spoke, O sinner! Consider the fearful danger you are in: it is a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as many of the damned in Hell. (Edwards 3). As stated before, God would be willing to take action against humans and cause agony without a second thought by simply letting them slip through his fingers into the pit of fire that Edwards describes. The Egyptian Berlin Papyrus (2050 1650 BC) contains the solution to a two term quadratic equation. Euclid (300 BC) used geometric methods to solve quadratic equations in his book Elements. In Arithmetica, Diophantus (250 BC) solved quadratic equations with methods which more closely resembled algebra. However, his solution only gave one root, even when both roots are positive.
