Benefits Administration
Final Project
12/12/14
XYZ Mobile is a major car company. We manufacture our own line of cars and
trucks along with the parts needed to fix and accessorize them. We have everything from
a new engine to mud flaps. The demographics of my employees are men and women
ranging in age from 18 to 65.
XYZ Mobile has roughly 800 employees in our main branch and has several other
branches around the United States. We employ thousands of people thru out the United
States and have been on the 100 Best Companies to Work For list several years in a row.
Our factories run 24 hours a day and our dealerships vary by city and establishment.
To keep our employees happy and loyal we offer an extensive benefits package that is
standard policy for all of our establishments. At XYZ Mobile we strive to have a low
turnover rate, with happy satisfied employees. As all of our employees are very important
to us and to return the favor we give out several incentive bonuses as well each year. We
hope to keep each and every one of our employees worry free so that they can perform at
tip top mental standards daily without concern. Each establishment also has an Employee
of the Month to characterize the employees we feel are doing exceptionally well at their
area of expertise.
Benefits given to all employees follow all legalities with in the United States. This
includes but is not limited to the Social Security Act, Medicare Act, Workers
Compensation and Unemployment Insurance Acts. Other benefits included in the XYZ
Mobile benefit package include but are also not limited to, Health and Dental insurance,
Paid Holidays, Vacation Time, Paid Time Off, Commission based on salary for the
dealership workers, Weekly Incentive Programs (example: finish over 100% of your
quota and earn an extra $50), Referral Bonuses, and Relocation Benefits.
Full time employees (over 32 hours per week) are eligible for benefits after a 90
day probationary period. Part time employees are not eligible for benefits but are still
eligible for the referral bonus, weekly incentive programs, commission, and relocation
benefits. Full time employees may choose between single coverage and family coverage
health and dental care plans.
Paid Time Off Benefits: Employees eligible for Paid Time Off benefits are offered 10
days of paid time off thru a one year period starting the date of hire. Paid time off days
can be used for what ever the employee deems fit however, need to be requested at least
two weeks in advance of the time wanted off and are not always accepted due to
scheduling concerns. Sick days or when an employee calls in Paid Time Off is also used
to fill the missed hours unless otherwise informed in writing by the employee.
Holiday Pay: Employees eligible for Holiday Pay will receive 8 hours of pay at their
regular pay amount on Christmas, New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July.
Employees who work on the Holidays listed will receive double their regular pay for
working.
Vacation Time: Eligible employees will receive one week (7 days) of paid vacation time
per year. Vacation time needs to be used within a year of employees yearly start date in
order to be paid. Vacation pay does not roll over to the next year and employees can not
cash out vacation time for money instead of time off. If you don’t use it, you lose it.
Commission Benefits for dealership workers: All commission benefits differ per salary
expected and are to be discussed at each individual branch with the employee, Financial
Manager, and Branch Manager.
Referral Bonuses: All employees full or part time may receive a $100 bonus for
referring successful employees into the XYZ Mobile team. New hires must maintain a
working position for 90 days in order for the initial employee to qualify for the bonus.
Relocation Benefits: If an employee of XYZ Mobile is selected for relocation they will
be provided with a $1600 relocation benefit. This money is to be used towards covering
the cost of living as well as moving expenses. Employees who may qualify for this
benefits package have been loyal to the company for at least 1 year prior to relocating.
