This researcher's key areas are measuring and modeling residual stress, fracture of structural materials, the high temperature behavior of structural steels, and advancing structural integrity methodologies. Their current projects include leading an EDF Energy funded project on high temperature behavior from 2010-2019, leading an EPSRC funded project on how inhomogeneity influences creep in dissimilar metal welds from 2013-2017, contributing to an FNC/MOD funded project on structural integrity of nuclear systems under thermal and mechanical loads from 2016-2019, and contributing to an EPSRC funded knowledge exchange project on emerging rail materials from 2015-2018.
