- 4. The Presentation #COR4: The Most Important Page of Your Website Presenter: Jason Pontius - White Whale Nothing on your website is as important as your calendar. Calendars aren't just about when and where events are happening. They're the single best marketing and storytelling opportunity on your entire site. The best illustration of the personality of your school is what's happening on campus. If there are interesting and diverse events on the calendar, visitors will think of your school as an interesting and diverse place. And if not— if your calendar is a clunky, broken-looking page with only a handful of internal events in plain text— well, you can finish that sentence yourself.

We need your events! • Log in now and start adding your events. • If you have never used the calendar before, contact me about setting up an account. • We have had world leaders and other prominent speakers visit campus on several occasions and those events were not added to the previous calendar. Our goal is to make sure that all events that are important to you and to the university get included in the future.

- When you go to a conference, don’t avoid the vendor rooms. Conversations there is that started this whole project.
- This is the teaser from Jason’s presentation. After talking to vendors this really caught my eye. Read out loud. This is important.

- If events are important to you they are important, so we want to display them. But they will not be on the same level as other events.
- For as ubiquitous as calendars are, there only a few companies producing them.
- When have you ever seen 25 people agree on anything?
- Not just a development vendor, but they bring you into an entire community.
- Make note that this is still early and that this isn’t an athletics calendar.
