What prevents you from getting your work done? In this presentation we go through key blockers that slow down your workflow. We also have tangible examples for everyone to work through
Showcasing Great Content: Don't Bury the Ledejvakoc
Harvard Law School (HLS) had a problem. They had amazing, high quality news content being created daily by the school that was not only getting lost quickly after it was published on the home page, but publishing it in the first place was a labor-intensive chore. Their old CMS didn’t publish in real-time, had no tagging functionality, and was neither mobile-friendly nor particularly accessible. And those were just a few of the problems.
This case study will address how a small department with limited resources moved to WordPress and become a proof of concept for redesigning and migrating the entire HLS site, helping to shape the whole school’s online strategy.
Number Stories: Win Friends and Influence HiPPOs with an Effective Measuremen...Michael Powers
Data overload has come to content strategy. With so many things to measure and tools to measure it with, how do you find a way to use analytics without succumbing to analysis paralysis? And without spending all your time on analytics? This session will walk through the creation of a measurement strategy that supports your existing content strategy. Then we’ll look at the ways you can use those analytics to tell the kinds of stories that persuade your peers and superiors to make smarter content decisions.
In this session, you will:
Learn how to decide what to measure and why
Find out how to create an analytics routine that provides actionable insights without taking up all your time
Learn to present measurements and analytics in ways that influence and persuade others
Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Like there just isn't enough time in the day?
As if there is NO CHANCE you will be able to get everything done?
This quick presentation goes over some tips and tools you probably haven't heard of...but need if you want to feel (and be) more productive.

Improve Your Site With A Real-time Core Web Vitals ViewWP Engine
Google's Core Web Vitals provides unified guidance for website performance related to user experience, and will redefine how websites are measured. This summer, Google will begin to use Core Web Vitals as a new signal that will impact how sites are ranked on Google search. New Relic's browser, available on WP Engine, gives users a real world view of your actual score, and gives you peace of mind that you’ll be in control of how Google is scoring your website user experience and users’ ability to find your site on the Internet.
In 2021, WP Engine’s own Web Marketing team undertook the major project of understanding and achieving >90% scores across the board in Google’s CWV scoring system. Ryan Hoover from WP Engine and Lindsy Farina from New Relic will explain how to use real user data to overcome the limitations of synthetic tests. Understand the impact that Core Web Vitals will have on your business in 2021, and how to understand your scores using tools like New Relic Browser.
Your company has evolved. You now have a clearer idea of what works with your website, what you would like to accomplish. The time has come for a new website. However, in the excitement of a new project there is often a rush to begin work as soon as possible. All too often, a lack of planning produces disappointing results.

SEO Disasters to Avoid During a Website RedesignDigital Reach
Redesigning your website is daunting at best. And if you aren't fully prepped for success, it can be a recipe for disaster.
In this presentation, we’ll breakdown our proven prep strategies and outline the post-launch checklists to make your website redesign as painless as possible.
Associate Director of SEO & Internal Development, Rebecca Berin, to discuss:
- SEO mistakes to avoid during website redesigns.
- Checklists for covering your bases pre- and post-launch.
- Tracking the progress (and success) of your redesign.
Today, websites are more critical to businesses success than ever before. Unfortunately, many have limited understanding to what a website should be, and more importantly, lack the knowledge of what a functional, fully-optimized website can deliver. Many under-estimate the value of going beyond a website that looks pretty. In order for a website to succeed in today’s digital focused world, we must go beyond design.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

2. Why We Need a New Calendar
The current web calendar is
• over 5 years old
• no longer supported by the authors
• hard to maintain, much less add new
features
• rather basic, not visually appealing
• unable to import from other systems
4. The Presentation
#COR4: The Most Important Page of Your Website
Presenter: Jason Pontius - White Whale
Nothing on your website is as important as your calendar.
Calendars aren't just about when and where events are
happening. They're the single best marketing and
storytelling opportunity on your entire site. The best
illustration of the personality of your school is what's
happening on campus. If there are interesting and diverse
events on the calendar, visitors will think of your school as
an interesting and diverse place. And if not— if your
calendar is a clunky, broken-looking page with only a
handful of internal events in plain text— well, you can finish
that sentence yourself.
5. The Summary
People don’t think of events as a
“marketing” opportunity, but your
calendar tells the story of your
school better than almost anything
else.
Jason Pontius
6. Events as Marketing
The Featured tab will
be a subset of the Day
tab, with events which
we think speak to
marketing the
university.
8. Evaluation Team
• Made up of over 25 volunteers from across
the university
• Evaluated “the usual suspects” to get an idea
of each systems’ capabilities before engaging
them
• Requested a written presentation from six
vendors, and then narrowed down to three
who were invited to do video presentations.
• LiveWhale was the unanimous selection
12. What Makes LiveWhale Great
Linked calendars allow you to import events from other calendars –
complete with default image and directly to the university calendar
13. What Makes LiveWhale Great
All university
buildings are in the
system and linked to
a Google Map
location.
Yes, that does mean
that off-campus
locations can be used
too.
14. What Makes LiveWhale Great
Events can be displayed on your website through javascript widgets.
Or, if you prefer, you can process RSS or iCAL feed outputs.
15. What Makes LiveWhale Great
Easy RSVP forms
allow you to
collect information
on who will attend
your event.
16. What Do We Need From You?
We need your events!
• Log in now and start adding your events.
• If you have never used the calendar before, contact me about
setting up an account.
• We have had world leaders and other prominent speakers visit
campus on several occasions and those events were not added
to the previous calendar. Our goal is to make sure that all events
that are important to you and to the university get included in the
future.
