This document provides instructions for a lesson on the physical geography of China and how it affected early Chinese dynasties. Students will be assigned one geographic feature to research, such as the Yangtze River or Gobi Desert. They will create an informational poster on the feature and how it impacted dynasties. Students will then view each other's posters and write tweet summaries. The exit ticket asks students to identify features, discuss their influence, and summarize what they learned in 3-5 sentences.

• SPI- Create a visual or multimedia display to
identify the physical location or major
geographical features of China including the
Yangtze River, Yellow River, Himalayas, Plateau of
Tibet, and the Gobi desert.

feature of China to discover and research.
• Step 1: You will read the material given to you
on your feature.
• Step 2: Take notes on the important evidence
you have discovered that your peers should
know! As you read brainstorm and think about
how these features affected the early
dynasties of China.

10. Task 2: gallery poster
Design a poster that displays your physical feature
•Step 1: Create a map display of China and your
physical feature
•Step 2: Pull the most significant evidence that you
highlighted and paraphrase it on bullet points
under your map.
•Step 3: Create a question about your physical
feature for the class to answer.

11. Gallery Walk & Tweet Session
• We will do a Gallery Walk to learn
about the other physical features.
• Once you have read through and
answered the question from the
poster, write a one sentence
TWEET about their poster.
