• You are responsible for properly writing the
element symbol
• You are responsible for correctly spelling the
element name
• If given the symbol you would write down the
element name
– Ex: Na  sodium
• If given the name you would write the
symbol

• Fold a paper in ½ four times to make 16 boxes
• Cut out boxes
– 47 are elements
– 1 in title card – has your name and class period on it
• For Credit: Show me your completed set
 Note: If you know already know some elements you DO
NOT have to make a flashcard for that element

• If you know it place it in a pile on the left side
• If you don’t know it place it in a pile on the right
side
• Hopefully, your left side pile is smaller
• As you start to learn them begin placing them in
the pile on the left (the ones you know!)
• Eventually they should ALL be on the left
