Yoram Siame, MPH, MSc, Advocacy and Public Relations Manager at the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) explored how CHAZ works with the Zambian government to provide health care services, building bridges with other groups to provide care, especially in HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health care and family planning in the CCIH briefing on Capitol Hill in July 2018.

11. • Going Local has dispelled fears of the few.
• Local and Indigenous institutions can implement large
and complex programmes.
• Capacity denial no longer holds water.
• As local organisations prime and subcontract
International organisations, they need to consider
having agreements with the local office.
• There will be setbacks which sceptics will use to create
an impression of a broken system which can only be
fixed by returning to past arrangements.
• Local organisations have to be ready to be dynamic
enough to fullfill multiple functions (implementer,
coordinator, funder…)
