This document summarizes the key points from a gathering to help churches better handle issues of sexual abuse and assault. Rachel Denhollander notes that evangelical churches have serious problems in how they respond to and counsel victims. Experts state abuse is likely worse in evangelical churches than in the Catholic Church. The document outlines spheres of offense including harm to God, survivors, and society. To ensure pastors understand the changing shape and scope of church giving in local church ministry. Most pastors are so close to the situation that it's difficult for them to pause, recognize the changes, and mark the shift in the assumptions and behavior of the person in the pew. My hope is that by highlighting these realities and providing a plan of action, we can ensure the money God intended to fund the work of the church doesn't end up funding someone else's budget.

Bullying is harmful behavior that inflicts emotional wounds and can have long-lasting negative consequences. It is defined subjectively as behavior that makes a child feel afraid or uncomfortable. While some argue bullying is just a normal part of childhood, experts say it is a serious problem that reflects an unhealthy culture. Effective solutions require clearly communicating that bullying will not be tolerated, intervening consistently, and changing social norms to stop accepting it as normal behavior.

The document discusses the Catholic Church's hierarchy and history of handling sexual abuse cases. It describes how secrecy and cover-ups have inhibited healing and enabled further abuse. While some spoke out against abuse centuries ago, more recent cases were often concealed, and abusive priests were sometimes allowed continued access to children. Surveys found many Catholics believe the Church prioritized its image over solving the problem. Victims have increasingly utilized the legal system and media to seek accountability and prevention of future abuse.

This document discusses the validity of online ordination and certification for Christian chaplaincy. It argues that all ordination today ultimately traces back to the Bible, so ordination from an online source is not inherently invalid. It also notes that the government is constitutionally prohibited from validating any particular religion. For these reasons, online ordination and certification can provide valid credentials for voluntary chaplaincy work in places like hospitals and prisons, though it may not satisfy all employers. The document encourages participants to focus on serving others with love rather than worrying about questions of validity from those seeking to discriminate.
Advocacy is deeply rooted in the Gospel and Catholic

The Way To Deliver
Help & Healing
To Those Who Have Endured
COGIC Clergy & Church Related
Sexual Abuse
Fact:
* Three companies that insure the majority of Protestant
churches in America say they typically receive upward of
260 reports each year of young people under 18 being
sexually abused by clergy, church staff, volunteers or
congregation members." ~ Insurance Journal 6/2007
4. IMBKCAC: Victim's Advocacy Is Not
A Judiciary
A Regulatory Agency
A Civil Or Municipal Authority
A Compliance Agency
A Watchdog Group
A Think-tank
Myth:
Victim's Advocacy Presumes Guilt.
In Reality:
The Implementation of Victim's Advocacy
Is NOT An Admission of Organizational
Guilt, it is A Method of Ministry
5. IMBKCAC: What We Already Know
COGIC has paid $$$ to mitigate
sexual abuse claims, but dollars do not
satisfy all needs.
There is currently NO recovery plan in
place that focuses solely on victims,
their wellbeing, or the complete
recovery process.
Currently, neither victims nor their
families have an assigned liaison to
help them understand church process.
This facilitates negative perception.
Failure to act in favor of those who
have been victimized has untold public
perception and monetary costs that
COGIC members do not desire.
"Presiding Bishop Blake thanked Judge Perry for
his remarks regarding the church's policy in
relationship to sexual misconduct. He pointed out
that, on average, the church spends about $800,000
to settle legal matters many of which have to do
with accusations of sexual misconduct.” ~ [2009
