Core Responsibilities
A 600MW unit of Harbin Boiler, Dongfang Turbine, Dongfang Generator
Boiler Maintenance:
• Condition monitoring of ID , FD fans, Pumps, Coal mill and gear box ,Air pre heater assembly.
• Executing the preventive/planned maintenance of coal mills and ID , FD fans as per plan.
• Carrying out modification works, Development of Mechanical Maintenance Procedures,
continuous review of mechanical maintenance practices to ensure the high availability.
• Leading and supervising the maintenance work in case of breakdown, reviewing the health of the
Equipments, Utility items and thereby long term uninterrupted service of equipment
• Maintenance Shift Engineer for boiler and its auxiliaries.
• Handling and trouble shooting of any breakdown , emergency activities in boiler and its
auxiliaries.

2. Spares Management :
• Engineering of machine elements and machines, verification specifications given by the vendors
and ensuring proper selection of spares.
• Identifying, Planning and mobilizing the resources after seeking approval from department head
for the spare parts, and equipments,
• Planning and maintaining spare parts inventory in order to ensure that spare parts and equipment
are available at the right time for the maintenance and upkeep of the machinery and utility
equipment.
• Technical evaluation of offers and technical debating with vendors.
Special assignments :
• Ensuring steady operation of mills and taking Corrective maintenance activities such as by
reversing the pinion, periodic backlash inspection, checking bearing clearances, Tie rod and helix
inspection, Mill liner and ball wear.
• Conduction of Cold Air velocity test (CAVT) and thereby providing metal screens inorder to create
uniform flow and velocity in the second pass of boiler, ultimately reducing the tube leakage.
• Fabrication of Economiser drain line from straight tube to U-tube , to avoid frequent failure of
welds due to boiler expansion.
• Boiler tube leakage: Selection of welding rod ,type of welding ,Pre and post weld heat treatment
process and so there by ensuring proper stress relieving.
• Air leak test and Hydro test : Conducting test and making complete inspection of boiler there by
ensuring no leakage in tubes and furnace and preparing reports for the same.
• Preparing failure reports and root cause analysis.
