- Samual Richardson is known for
three epistory novels:
- Pamela Or, Virtue Rewaaded
(1740),
- Clarrisa Or The History of A Young
Ldy (1748)
- The History of Sir Charles

WHAT IS EPISTOLARY NOVEL:-
• The term epistolary novel’ refers to the works fiction that
are written in the form of letters or other documents.
• “Epistolary” is Simply the adjectival form of the noun
epistle, from the latinized Greek for Letter.
• Pamela; or Virtue Rewarded is an epistolary novel frist
published in 1740 by English writer Samual Richardson.
• Pamela tells the story of 15th old maidservant.
• Pamela writes two kind of letters.
-She tells her moral dilemmas and asks for their advice.
-After Mr.B. Abducts her in his country country house that
time she wrote a letter. ( Diary)
