12 Basic Education Curriculum. The K to
12 Program covers 13 years of basic
education with the following key

In Grade 7 to 8 of the junior high, exploratory courses are
offered. A maximum of eight (8) exploratory courses can
be offered, although it can be lesser depending on the

tertiary level in the country is under the watch of the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Undergraduate degree programs offered at the tertiary level
may be offered by private or public colleges and universities.
Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd)
and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education
(BTVTEd) are just examples of degree programs offered by
private or public colleges and universities.

29. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority
(TESDA) is another agency that caters to the country's
learning needs.
TESDA offers home economics courses guided by a Training
Regulation (TR). "Training Regulations (TR) – a TESDA-
promulgated document that serves as the basis for which the
competency-based curriculum and instructional materials and
competency assessment tools are developed"

30. All learners who will complete the courses above may be
assessed and receive National Certificate (NC) from level I to
IV. The time allotted for these courses to be completed varies.
