Paul was driven by three strong convictions from God: that God had selected him for special service, that God would sustain him as he served, and that God was sending him to the Gentiles. Paul argued from his reflection on the Old Testament that all people, including Jews, have rebelled against God and need justification before Him. God provided justification through Christ's death on the cross and saved us through His resurrection. Paul's vision was to bring glory to God by leading Gentiles to Christ, motivated by the conviction that without Christ people are condemned. His keys to effectiveness were reliance on God, persevering prayer, and endurance knowing God accomplishes His will.
