Jesus was the most important human who ever lived. His death and resurrection marked the beginning of Christianity and the New Covenant to save humanity from sin. Jesus's disciples spread the gospel message throughout the Roman Empire and beyond, establishing the Christian church. Over time, Christianity grew despite periods of Roman persecution, and eventually became the dominant religion of the empire under Emperor Constantine.
