The Centre for Research on the Wider Benefits of Learning was established in 1999 to investigate the non-economic benefits of learning. It conducts interdisciplinary research on topics such as health, crime, parenting, and social cohesion using longitudinal studies. Recent work has examined how individual, family, school, and community contexts interact to influence children's achievement and well-being from childhood through adolescence. Research findings suggest the importance of early intervention and support for disadvantaged children, as well as integrated policy approaches that consider the complex interactions between individuals and their environments.
