digestion
– It is known as
mastication
3. The Stomach
• The stomach churns
the food, which aids
digestion
• The stomach also
contains hydrochloric
acid which provides
the perfect conditions
for the enzymes and
kills all bacteria
4. The Small Intestine
• The small intestine is
where all of the small
soluble molecules are
absorbed into the
bloodstream
– The enzymes
produced in the
pancreas are excreted
into the small intestine
