Stem cell biotech companies are seeking investment from venture capitalists and big pharma. However, investors have largely held back due to a lack of clinical evidence that stem cell therapies are effective and can be produced cost-effectively at scale. It will likely take successful clinical trials demonstrating clear benefits to patients to convince investors that stem cell companies have viable treatments. Several companies have therapies in late-stage clinical trials that could be breakthroughs, but most in the field are still early-stage and focused on research and development.
Canada is a hotbed for the commercialization of regenerative medicine and stem cell discoveries. How appropriate, since two Canadian doctors, James Till and Ernest McCulloch discovered transplantable stem cells at the Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto in 1961.
Accelerated growth in this industry sector is opening up new job opportunities for medical laboratory technologists. The benefits include working with scientific discoveries and leading-edge technologies to find exciting new treatment options that can help people living with devastating diseases and conditions.
Check out my story From Bench to Business in the Winter 2015 issue of the Canadian Journal of Medical Laboratory Science. I enjoyed interviewing Lianne Witt, technical director of laboratory and client services at Insception Lifebank, Canada’s largest private cord blood bank, and Emily Titus, manager of technology at Centre for Commercialization for Regenerative Medicine (CCRM). Their career paths are inspiring for medical laboratory technologists looking for opportunities beyond traditional hospital labs. It is a great time to be working in the fields of regenerative medicine and stem cells!
This is my short presentation in one of my university classes. It's obvious that the future of the stem cell biology is tightly engaged with organoids and they will absolutely change the way science is going to.
Kind regards

There are a lot of orthopedic conditions and injuries that presently have limited treatment options available.
Here regenerative technologies comes up as a ray of hope among surgeons for the treatment by functionally repairing the tissues and organs using growth factors, stem cells and products developed by genetic engineering with the advancement in the stem cells research field .
The purpose of this presentation is to first provide idea about the orthopedic conditions along with the therapeutic potential of stem cells to treat these diseases.

Stem Cell Therapy: The Future is Here! Find Out About the Clinical Trial and ...Patients Medical
Dr. Kamau Kokayi, Director of New York Stem Cell Treatment Center at Patients Medical presents research on how stem cell therapy has helped patients already.
Stem cells are divided into two major classes; pluripotent and multipotent. Pluripotent stem cells are replicating cells, which are derived from the embryo or fetal tissues. The pluripotent stem cells facilitate the development of cells and tissues in three primary germ layers such as mesoderm, ectoderm, and endoderm.
Despite facing stringent regulatory limitations and ethical concerns, the stem cell regeneration is witnessing a welcoming change in terms of increased awareness, formulation of regulations and regulatory acceptance. According to the latest research conducted by Infinity Research Limited, the global stem cell industry is poised to grow at a CAGR of whooping 36.52% by 2021, attracting a lot of interest.
Here is a look at the top 5 promising U.S listed stem cell stocks .
Cellular and gene therapies are now on the cusp of realizing the early promise of treating, and perhaps curing diseases that previously had little or no available therapeutic options. However, the journey from the laboratory to the clinic has been bumpy, with a history of disappointments, especially in the early 1990's where gene therapy had received much hype and publicity.
In our latest SlideShare, we discuss the exciting new field of stem cells in regenerative medicine. These slides cover briefly the sources and types of stem cells, as well as the recent figures and growing interest in this sector. Recent R&D highlights would focus on the vast potential of stem cells; for blood disorders, multiple sclerosis, diabetes as well as brain injury.

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.
Basavarajeeyam is an important text for ayurvedic physician belonging to andhra pradehs. It is a popular compendium in various parts of our country as well as in andhra pradesh. The content of the text was presented in sanskrit and telugu language (Bilingual). One of the most famous book in ayurvedic pharmaceutics and therapeutics. This book contains 25 chapters called as prakaranas. Many rasaoushadis were explained, pioneer of dhatu druti, nadi pareeksha, mutra pareeksha etc. Belongs to the period of 15-16 century. New diseases like upadamsha, phiranga rogas are explained.
