Career Waypoints Purpose
 Career Waypoints (C-Way)
 Is a tool that allows Career Counselors and
Sailors to view their “Best Match” ratings.
 The Career Waypoints-Reenlistment (C-
Way-Reen) screening process is to be
based on rank, performance evaluations
and critical NECs.

Career Waypoint- Reenlistment
 Deadline will be 2359(CST) on the last day of each month.
 COs, XOs, OICs or designated command representative
will have access to C-Way for entry, inquiries, and results
of all C-Way-Reen applications.
 Submit C-Way-Reen applications NO LATER than 16
months prior to S/EAOS/PRD via Career Waypoints

C-Way-Reen
 NPC’s normal processing of C-way-Reen applications
begins 18 months prior to S/EAOS/PRD.
 Applicants will be submitted each month from 16 to 6
months prior to S/EAOS/PRD.
 Applicant will be compared no more than 8 times for an
Active Duty quota.

C-Way-Reen Reenlistment
Processing
 Sailors can request up to 3 rating conversion
choices:
 Rating request must be from the monthly quota
conversion list per Sailor’s application.
 Sailors must be fully qualified for the ratings they are
selecting IAW MILPERSMAN 1306-618 and in Career
Waypoints.
 Retesting of AFCT may be required prior to
submission.

C-Way-Reen Approval Process (E-6)
 E6 Sailors with less than 14 years of
service who desire to reenlist and have
command approval will be given
reenlistment approval on their first
application.
 Nuclear ratings will still apply every
month

 Possible C-Way results:
 Reenlist in rate.
 Tentatively Approved for Conversion.
 Transition into the Selected Reserves
 Denied-Final Active (Separate at S/EAOS).
 Monthly reenlistment/conversion quotas for each
rate is assigned by the Enlisted Community
Managers.
 Approved quotas will be assigned expiration dates
and are valid for 13 months.

Applicant who is not selected and has
maximized the number of C-Way comparisons
(4 total in rate, 4 conversion) will be separated
from Active Duty Navy.
Official notification will be posted via letter for
every Sailor in C-Way once approved, or denied
final active.

Professional Apprenticeship
Career Track (PACT) Designation
 C-Way-PACT will auto-generate partially populated
applications for PACT Sailors who are:
 Time in-rate (TIR) eligible for the Navy-Wide Advancement
Examination (NWAE)
 And/or have at least 12 months on board their first
permanent duty station

 NAVADMIN 118/18 PACT Policy Changes
 Sailors will be designated based on their selection of a
prioritized job in a rating for which they are qualified
 PACT Sailors’ PRDs are set at 24 months from arrival at their
first permanent duty station
 Sailors will begin the selection/designation process 12
months prior to PRD
 Commands will be able to offer advancement to E-4 to
Sailors willing to obligate additional service
 Sailor’s effective date of designation and advancement
eligibility will normally be 90 days prior to PRD

 A monthly review must be done for all personnel who have
not received final C-Way-Reen results.

evaluations, advancement, NJP, and security clearance
eligibility, etc…

 CCCs must submit a new SAAR when they transfer to a
new command to ensure their UIC is updated.
 CCCs must review the conversion quotas listed for each
Sailor each month and update all applications based on

processed for separation within 60 days.
