 LIST eligibility requirements for reenlistment and
reenlistment extension in accordance with the
Navy Military Personnel Manual, NAVPERS 15560
(series)
 DESCRIBE the Career Waypoints system in
accordance with applicable directives
Purpose
 “Reenlistment is not a right; it is a privilege.” –The
Bluejacket’s Manual
Reenlistment
 Option to reenlist from 2 to 6 years
 Recommended for retention by CO
 Must be rated
 Must be physically qualified
 Must have an approved Career Waypoints –
Reenlistment quota
 Cannot exceed High Year Tenure (HYT)
Selected Reenlistment Bonus
(SRB)
 The Navy’s primary monetary force shaping tool
 Eligibility depends on rating, Navy Enlisted
Classification (NEC) code, reenlistment zone, and
current SRB levels at time of reenlistment
 The most up-to-date SRB levels are listed on
MyNavy Portal under the SRB tab at
https://ww.mnp.navy.mil/group/pay-and-benefits
Zones of Enlistment
 Zone A: 0 – 6 Years
 Zone B: 6 – 10 Years
 Zone C: 10 – 14 Years
 Zone D: 14 – 20 Years
 Zone E: >20 Years
Career Waypoint (C-WAY)
Reenlistment System
 Long-term force management tool
 Performance-based program allows the Navy to
keep it’s top performers
 Career Waypoint System algorithm used to rank
Sailors based on performance indicators
Year Group (YG)
 Based on Fiscal Year (FY) that you attended Recruit
Training
 FY runs from 01 October to 30 September
 Provides Enlisted Community Managers (ECM) a
way to manage manning in entire rating
 You will only be compared against Sailors within
the same YG for Career Waypoint – Reenlistment
quotas
Enlistment Extensions
 Extended by month
 Up to 48 months
 Sailor whose enlistment contract ends prior to
their duty station tour lengths will be asked to
obligate service (OBLISERV) to complete their
prescribed tour.
Professional Apprentice Career
Track (PACT) Sailors
 Three apprenticeship career tracks:
 Aviation (A-PACT)
 Engineering (E-PACT)
 Surface (S-PACT)
 The following is available prior to PRD:
 Rating/ Billet approval VIA MyNavy Assignments
(MNA) 12 months prior to PRD
 Apply for a rating requiring a package 15-12 months
prior to PRD

 Internet-based career exploration tool
 Custom career interest profile
 Matches desires with Navy ratings
