This document provides information about Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection pitching competition to be held on February 1st and 2nd. It outlines the categories and schedule for the preliminary rounds and finals. Participants will have 2 minutes to pitch and 3 minutes for Q&A using a recommended 6 slide format covering the 5 Ts (problem, solution, team, traction, value) plus a 6th T (time). Judges will include bankers, lawyers, accountants, entrepreneurs and angel investors. Prizes will be awarded for best overall, innovation, scalable/non-patentable ideas, services, idea stage, female founder, social impact, and alumni founders. The event will conclude with a practice session for participants.

• One (1) Participant will win the Best Overall $5,000 Venture Prize package ($5,000 cash, in-kind
tbc). A Participant may win the Best Overall Venture Prize in addition to another prize;
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Innovation Office Scalable Patentable Category Prize
package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Scalable Non-Patentable Prize package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Services / Other Prize package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship Idea Prize
Package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Female Founder Award ($2,500 cash). A Participant may
win the Female-Founder Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round
Participants meet the requirements for the Female-Founder Award, the prize will not be
awarded
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Social Impact Award. A Participant may win the Social
Impact Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round Participants meet
the requirements for the Social Impact Award, the prize will not be awarded.
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Alumni Founder Award ($2,500 cash). A Participant may
win the Alumni Founder Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round
Participants meet the requirements for the Alumni Founder Award, the prize will not be
awarded.
