This document provides information about Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection pitching competition to be held on February 1st and 2nd. It outlines the different categories and prizes for the competition. Participants will have 2 minutes to pitch their idea followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. The recommended pitch format is 6 slides with 20 seconds per slide addressing the five T's: trouble, technology, team, traction, and treasure. The sixth T is the judges which include a banker, lawyer, accountant, entrepreneur and angel investor. Example slides are provided. • One (1) Participant will win the Best Overall $5,000 Venture Prize package ($5,000 cash, in-kind
tbc). A Participant may win the Best Overall Venture Prize in addition to another prize;
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Innovation Office Scalable Patentable Category Prize
package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Scalable Non-Patentable Prize package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Services / Other Prize package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $5,000 Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship Idea Prize
Package ($5,000 cash);
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Female Founder Award ($2,500 cash). A Participant may
win the Female-Founder Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round
Participants meet the requirements for the Female-Founder Award, the prize will not be
awarded
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Social Impact Award. A Participant may win the Social
Impact Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round Participants meet
the requirements for the Social Impact Award, the prize will not be awarded.
• One (1) Participant will win the $2,500 Alumni Founder Award ($2,500 cash). A Participant may
win the Alumni Founder Award in addition to another prize. If none of the Preliminary Round
Participants meet the requirements for the Alumni Founder Award, the prize will not be
awarded.
