• Twitter is an information search engine. With more than
  155 million tweets per day, it is now the place for
  breaking news.

    percent of job openings in 2012 (source: OnlineDegrees.com)
•   LinkedIn is a good bet—93% of recruiters have successfully hired
    candidates through the professional network. 66% percent of recruiters
    look for candidates on Facebook and 54% use Twitter

•   Twitter is about engaging in conversation and adding value

•   Take advantage of the ability to build your network – by allowing people to connect with and follow
    you (MeetUp.com, Eventbrite.com, Hackforchange.org, etc.)

•   Provide good information in your Bio to encourage Followers and include an appropriate link to
    learn more about you/your company.




•   Follow and engage with people in the professions and industries that you recruit for – in addition to
    friends and professional peers (E.g., Gilead Sciences, Genentech, Novartis, etc.)

•   Be yourself. People want to follow real people – not auto-tweeters or corporate robots.
