 We see several things in our daily
life.
 They may look and feel different.
 Some may be hard and shiny,
hard and rough, soft and
stretched.
 They are different because they
are made of different
MATERIALS.
 Some materials come from PLANTS and some
from ANIMALS.
 We get wood from
trees like teak , neem
etc.
 It is hard and strong.
 It is used to make
furnitures.
 It is a from a liquid
(milk) that we get from
rubber trees.
 It can be stretched
easily.
 It is used to make tyres
and erasers.
 It is made into watery
paste.
 And then rolled into
sheets to make
 PAPER.
 Cotton from the cotton
plant.
 Jute from the jute plant.
 Jute is used to make
bags and ropes.
 Fibres from flax plant –
and is used to make
Linen cloth.
 Leather is taken from
skin of the animals.
(crocodile , snake, etc)
 Wool is taken from the
hair of the animals.
(sheep, camel and goats)
 We make glass from
sand.
 We use clay to make
pots, bricks and tiles.
 We used to make
vessels, engines of
cars, buses , trains etc.
 Gold and silver used to
make jewellery.
 Iron, copper etc used to
make vessels.
 We get kerosene, wax,
vaseline from
petroleum.
 It is used to make
plastics toys, ropes
bags, parts of cars.
 It does not rot like plant
or animal material.
