Environmental cost of Mined Diamonds is alarming
Mining as an activity has a huge detrimental impact on environment is an undisputable fact. To ensure that this highly profitable commercial venture remain sustainable in the long term, it is vital that the mining companies monitor their environmental impact, report it publically in a transparent manner and take all the necessary steps to mitigate the impact and help restore the environment.
In such an environmentally deteriorating business, it is imperative that diamond miners take responsibility of their enterprising actions and help restore the damage caused to environment, starting with implementing good Environment Management Systems (EMS) and becoming ISO 14001 compliant, which currently only 35% of diamond mines are.
Considering the alarming impact on environment, if no radical changes are made to the existing diamond mining practices it will become utterly difficult to save our planet (forget about spreading the emotions of love and romance)!!

Objective of this paper is to produce hydrogen which is an ideal fuel for the next generation because it is abundantly available in nature, energy efficient and clean. Wide varieties of technologies are available to produce hydrogen but only few of them are considered environmental friendly. Solar water splitting via photo catalytic reaction is one of them which have attracted tremendous attention. In this paper we are working on hydrogen production via solar splitting. Photo catalytic water splitting is one of the promising technologies to produce pure and clean hydrogen. Since it is reasonable having low process cost and has a small reactor, it can be made for house hold application and hence has a huge market potential. Generation of hydrogen under visible irradiation is the main area of work. Based on the literature reported here, visible irradiation can be achieved by doping of TiO2 with metal or non-metal. We have used Fe doping to increase the efficiency. The result indicates that Fe doped sieves produce more hydrogen than the normal TiO2 coated sieve and the efficiency can be increased if we increase the number of doped sieves and surface area.
FABRICATION OF A SIMPLE BUBBLE COLUMN CO2 CAPTURE UNIT UTILIZING MICROALGAE
This paper focuses on the fabrication of a vertical column CO2 bioreactor and the experimentation of
microalgae. On the manufacturing aspect of the project, the base design was modelled on Solidworks and
assigned a material. The model was then loaded onto a finite element analysis (FEA) software to determine
various engineering stresses and strains to confirm the specimen’s strength. Once the simulation had
completed, the model was ready for 3-D printing. The species of microalgae to be used in this study was
Chlorella Vulgaris. The medium solution was prepared by mixing many types of salts suitable for this type
of algae. Experimental trials of algae growth were conducted mainly to see whether the algae would indeed
grow more rapidly using the developed medium. After failure in early trials, some experiments were
conducted to determine which concentration of stock solution would be the most ideal for the algae to grow
in. These early experiments proved the major impacts of the concentration of the medium on the rate of
growth of the algae. The knowledge gained in these experiments will be instrumental during the next stages
of this project.

FABRICATION OF A SIMPLE BUBBLE COLUMN CO2 CAPTURE UNIT UTILIZING MICROALGAE
This paper focuses on the fabrication of a vertical column CO2 bioreactor and the experimentation of
microalgae. On the manufacturing aspect of the project, the base design was modelled on Solidworks and
assigned a material. The model was then loaded onto a finite element analysis (FEA) software to determine
various engineering stresses and strains to confirm the specimen’s strength. Once the simulation had
completed, the model was ready for 3-D printing. The species of microalgae to be used in this study was
Chlorella Vulgaris. The medium solution was prepared by mixing many types of salts suitable for this type
of algae. Experimental trials of algae growth were conducted mainly to see whether the algae would indeed
grow more rapidly using the developed medium. After failure in early trials, some experiments were
conducted to determine which concentration of stock solution would be the most ideal for the algae to grow
in. These early experiments proved the major impacts of the concentration of the medium on the rate of
growth of the algae. The knowledge gained in these experiments will be instrumental during the next stages
of this project.

Direct ocean carbon capture (DOC) removes carbon dioxide from seawater using membrane contactors like hollow fibers or encapsulated solvents. DOC has advantages over air capture by avoiding land use and could help mitigate climate change when paired with offshore wind and storage. 1. Tree-soil-crop interactions in rubber agroforestry systems can be managed at the plot, farm, and landscape levels. At the plot level, a mixed-age stand can be maintained for cash flow while diversifying. At the farm level, credit can cover replanting costs until cash flow is positive. At the landscape level, policy harmonization across forest and agriculture is important.

It also increased food security and incomes by expanding irrigation to over 16,000 hectares, utilizing over 950 water harvesting structures, and promoting climate-smart agricultural practices on over 60,000 hectares.

This is raising major concerns for a continent already challenged by adaptations to climate change, as it threatens a vital resource for food security of rural communities, economic growth, and ecosystem conservation. The accidental introduction through trade of non‐native species in particular is accelerating, and it adds to the damage to tree‐based landscapes by native pests and diseases. Old‐time and new invaders heavily impact planted forests of exotic eucalypts, pines, and acacias, and are spreading quickly across African regions. But many non‐native pathogens are recently found affecting important indigenous trees.

Species distribution modelling is being used to map the habitats of over 150 priority African plant species. More advanced modelling methods are being used to reduce bias, including spatial folding and thinning. Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

As artificial intelligence inference transitions from cloud environments to edge locations, computer vision applications achieve heightened responsiveness, reliability and privacy. This migration, however, introduces the challenge of operating within the stringent confines of resource constraints typical at the edge, including small form factors, low energy budgets and diminished memory and computational capacities. Axelera AI addresses these challenges through an innovative approach of performing digital computations within memory itself. This technique facilitates the realization of high-performance, energy-efficient and cost-effective computer vision capabilities at the thin and thick edge, extending the frontier of what is achievable with current technologies.
