During its history it housed a large and valuable library and art collection but much was lost over time. It fell into disrepair after World War 2 but has since been restored by the Metropolitan of Moldova.

From 1686 onwards, the domain of Miclăuşeni belonged to the Sturdza family, who provided good management for the property in both material and spiritual directions. The family residence consisted of a castle, a church and small cemetery, situated in the middle of a beautiful park.
