Case Presentation Treatment Plan (CP-TP) for GRATEL
Introduction
Gretel Gerstenhagen, a 10-year-old Austrian girl who attends the Gingerbread Learning
Academy and lives at home with her fraternal twin Hansel, her father, and her stepmother
following the untimely death of their biological mother who abandoned them a day before their
third birthday, is the subject of the case. Their mother was bedridden throughout her pregnancy
and ill for the first two years of the children's lives; they were only permitted to visit their mother
at her bedside for brief periods. Their father was a skilled carpenter who traveled frequently in
response to the demand for housing across the region.
After their mother passed away, their father hired a ua who mistreated them and withheld
parental love, leading to their development of various illnesses and physical deformities as a
result of poor parenting. After learning about the mistreatment, he fired the au and decided to
move from Australia to the United States, where he was able to remarry despite the wife's dislike
for the children.
After moving, they enrolled in the Gingerbread Learning Academy, where Gretel and Hansel
were enrolled in the third grade. Unfortunately, Gretel soon developed unseemly behaviors, such
as being irate and argumentative at home, in class, and in the Gingerbread Afterschool Program
when she felt insulted. She incorrectly blamed her brother when home duties like cleaning the
playroom went undone; at school, she accused peers of being responsible for mishaps on the
playground. She began to rage at her stepmother at home, grumble under her breath at her
teacher in class, purposefully leave her seat when the class was supposed to remain silent. And
the teacher made the decision to ask the father to discipline the children or transfer them to a new
school. Sadly, Gretel poses a threat of killing herself.

deal with any change resistance, and acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the change's
implementation.

depression (CBT).
• Lessen and maybe eliminate negative thoughts about oneself and other people that are habitual.
• Encourage more people to participate in non-depressive activities to reduce avoidance
behaviors.
• To reduce conflict and depression symptoms, strengthen the family system's realistic relational
schemas..

• Recognizing how losing a parent affects how you see the world, other people, and yourself.
• Get rid of the false basic notions related to parental death guilt.
• Reduce family dysfunction to lessen its detrimental effects on the client's parent-child
connection.

Therapeutic Interventions
Different therapeutic interventions can be used in different contexts and take on different shapes.
The phrase refers to behaviors or procedures that enhance another person's psychological, social,
or emotional wellness in the context of psychology.
Significant depressive disorder
 The counselor will educate clients on the relationship between mood and avoidance
behaviors, harmful self-talk, and actions.
 Psycho-education on appropriate behavior will be provided by the therapist.
 The client will be aware of and take part in behaviors that support good manners.
 The client will review the "treatment notes" that were kept for each session between
sessions.
 During the counseling session, the client will identify her harmful assumptions,
inadequate coping strategies, and unhelpful fundamental beliefs using the cognitive
conceptualization diagram.
 Using the pleasure/mastery scale, the client will identify adaptive behaviors during
the session.
 To resist negative automatic thoughts related to fundamental beliefs, the client will
keep coping cards and a weekly thought log.
 To rewire their core beliefs, the client will use behavioral trials. The client will
arrange self-care, exercise, and social outings on a weekly basis.
 The client will get in touch with the counselor once per week to report on the results
of the tasks they were given for that week.
 The client will recognize and take steps to avoid relapsing.
 As needed, the counselor will offer booster sessions to help clients avoid relapse
and recover from it.
2. Demise of a parent causes family disruption
 The therapist will offer psycho-education around parent loss.
 The counselor will provide teens with Bibliotherapy, The Orphan Help Book.
 The client will use a thought journal to engage in cognitive restructuring of "guilt."
 Using Socratic inquiry, the client will process their sorrow and the loss of their family
system.
 To help the client cope with the loss of a parent, the counselor may suggest family
counseling.
 The therapist will suggest grief "teen" group therapy to the client.
3. being the target of persecution and unfavorable prejudice (provisional)
 Therapist will educate client on psychologically on the CBT triad (emotions, thoughts,
and behaviors) in relation to perceived prejudice.
 To help the client comprehend the causes, behaviors, and effects of perceived
discriminatory occurrences, the counselor will cognitively conceptualize them.
 Through the use of Socratic questions, the counselor will work with the client to uncover
"normative" prejudiced perceptions that lead to the solutions to problems.
 The counselor will use Socratic inquiries to assist the client recognize unhelpful
underlying beliefs and automatic thought patterns about themselves, other people, and
the world.
 Using a thought record, the counselor and client will work to cognitively restructure
unhelpful thoughts and basic beliefs as necessary.
 The client will employ behavioral experiments to rewire their core beliefs and unhelpful
thoughts.
 The counselor will conduct activities that promote mastery and pleasure as well as
psycho-education on how to tolerate distress.
 The client will recognize and use techniques for coping with discomfort.
Outcome Measures of Change
 Clients report less unhelpful ideas and actions, as well as more enjoyable and
skill-building activities.

  • 2. Case Presentation Treatment Plan (CP-TP) for GRATEL Introduction Gretel Gerstenhagen, a 10-year-old Austrian girl who attends the Gingerbread Learning Academy and lives at home with her fraternal twin Hansel, her father, and her stepmother following the untimely death of their biological mother who abandoned them a day before their third birthday, is the subject of the case. Their mother was bedridden throughout her pregnancy and ill for the first two years of the children's lives; they were only permitted to visit their mother at her bedside for brief periods. Their father was a skilled carpenter who traveled frequently in response to the demand for housing across the region. After their mother passed away, their father hired a ua who mistreated them and withheld parental love, leading to their development of various illnesses and physical deformities as a result of poor parenting. After learning about the mistreatment, he fired the au and decided to move from Australia to the United States, where he was able to remarry despite the wife's dislike for the children. After moving, they enrolled in the Gingerbread Learning Academy, where Gretel and Hansel were enrolled in the third grade. Unfortunately, Gretel soon developed unseemly behaviors, such as being irate and argumentative at home, in class, and in the Gingerbread Afterschool Program when she felt insulted. She incorrectly blamed her brother when home duties like cleaning the playroom went undone; at school, she accused peers of being responsible for mishaps on the playground. She began to rage at her stepmother at home, grumble under her breath at her teacher in class, purposefully leave her seat when the class was supposed to remain silent. And the teacher made the decision to ask the father to discipline the children or transfer them to a new school. Sadly, Gretel poses a threat of killing herself.
