PERSONAL STATEMENT
I currently work as an administrator at William Graham Law Ltd (WGL). WGL is an extremely busy, high
challenging and growing Law firm dealing in Litigation matters with a constantly increasing workload. WGL is a
Cardiff based firm and has Clients all over the UK, the company is a small to medium size firm. WGL works
closely with DAS Legal Expenses Insurance. My role within WGL has changed throughout the years due to my
eagerness and quick to learn attitude. I have a friendly nature with a quiet disposition and I am confident in my
work. I am a conscientious and flexible worker. I have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and am
able to communicate effectively with both colleagues and Clients, which has attracted and retained important
Clients over the years.
I am computer literate and quick to learn new skills and procedures. I have the ability to multi-task efficiently. I
am by nature, punctual, meticulous with an eye to detail and accuracy, and, have a thorough work ethic.
My experience within my career to date is a testament to my commitment and ability. I am able to apply myself

I was initially moved from the legal secretary role to develop WGL’s Case Management System, which involved
creating precedent letters, work flows and dealing with fee earner queries in relation to the assisting with day to
day running of files, this lead to my progression through WGL and working closely with management.
I perform a variety of Management, IT, Paralegal and Administrative duties including the following:
 Extensive liaisons with Management, other firms, DAS, Chambers etc. to ensure future work and good
relations.
 Extensive diary, travel and email management, including admin tasks as taking and distributing minutes,
preparing meeting papers, ad hoc correspondence, collating information and formatting reports. General
administration i.e. filing and answering the telephone.
 Ensuring all requests from various internal and external parties are met within time frames to maintain the
firm’s integrity and ensuring information from multiple departments are accurate and complied with in a
timely manner.
 Responsible for guaranteeing that the Secretaries and Admin Staff within the firm manage their workload
effectively, ensuring senior fee earners have the relevant support.
 Ensuring prompt responses within timeframes, proof reading legal documents, and providing status reports
to senior management.
 First point of contact for all new business enquiries within the firm
 Point of contact for support for the firm; IT support, printer support, office support and sole contact for new
Clients, and distributing the same to the relevant fee earners best suited to the area of law the case is
relevant to.
 Reporting Manager, to DAS, MI STATS on specific cases, monthly, quarterly and yearly and reviewing
financial management reports for fee earners and management etc.
 Testing the integrity of data provided by WGL & DAS and presenting it in a way that ensures the
information is used as a tool to run and develop the business..
 Monitoring and improving response times on public queries raised and complaints.
 Stock taking stationery and cleaning supplies ensuring that deliveries are checked and put away in
designated areas.
 Coordinate the taking of leave by staff members so that it does not jeopardise the efficient running of the
firm
 Organise and manage the facilities – liaising with the porter re: building work, alarm, car park and
surrounding gardens etc.
Key Achievements:
 Discussing with Management about new areas of business – Business Development and Marketing.
 I now manage my own case load of debt recovery files, involving all paralegal work.
 Liberate / Linetime. I developed the Case Management System that WGL use. Creating the relevant
precedent letters, work flows to ensure work is run smoother and deadlines met. Training the whole office
on the same. I also developed the accounting system within Liberate which simplified the accounting
process by reducing the paper flow in the office. I implemented the Time Recording system using Liberate
and trained all colleagues on the same, thereby streamlining the billing process. Creating and developing
the WGL Website and the B2C program; which was a system whereby DAS could log into online and see a
screen shot of the History of a case in order to have an over view of any DAS file if they so wished.
 After identifying a deficiency in the monitoring system for internal and external reports, I then designed a
streamlined and standardised procedure to reduce repetition of data entry, ensuring that different teams
produce standard reports thereby enabling internal comparison using Excel and Access programs.
 Being the sole external reporter to WGL’s main client, DAS and designing a streamlined program and
process in which to do so – covering all departments.
 I cover the Accounts department every Friday; banking and writing cheques etc.
 I became responsible for the induction of all new staff, setting up new fee earners / support staff and
training them on all equipment and programs WGL use.
 Introducing the conference calling facility on the phone system.

socialising, fashion / shopping and have a keen interest in current affairs. I am currently working on a project
with friends to raise money for charity. I have recently competed in two Mudder Races; Tough Mudder and Rat
Race and undertook my first half marathon last year (Cardiff Half) and look forward to entering a few more.
