Cervantes was a Spanish writer born in 1547 who is best known for his novel "Don Quixote", considered one of the most influential works of literature. He had one daughter with his wife Catalina De Salazar and another daughter from an extramarital relationship. In addition to "Don Quixote", Cervantes wrote many plays including "El laberinto del amor", "El trato de Argel", and "El retablo de las maravillas". His life and works have been depicted in numerous films such as 1969's "Cervantes" and 2007's "Miguel and William".
