 When you are a counselor you are a
mental health service provider that is
trained to help individuals, families,
and groups with mental, behavioral,
and emotional problems and disorders.
 Values-In order to be a counselor you have to be kind and
friendly and a good listener with good advice giving skills.
 Tasks and Responsibilities- When you go into work as a
counselor you go and talk to people, listen to them and deal
with issues. The workdays would be mostly filled with new
experiences because there are different patients with a
different story every time. I think the job has a bit of
pressure because throughout the day you might be thinking
what if I can’t help the patient and something bad happens.
The job is primarily mental.
 Working w/ Data, People, and Things- A counselor uses
data through the patients’ patient files and with that they
can decide the best way to go about things. As a counselor
you deal with new and different people every day.
Counselors can sometimes use objects to help people
express their feelings.
 Work environment- A good work environment for a
counselor would be a indoor office that is light, open, and
airy. It should have a happy, friendly vibe.
 Working hours- Depends if you’re a private counselor or
not.
 Aptitudes and Abilities-To be counselor you should really
be a good listener and a good advice giver.
 Education and Training- To become a counselor you have
to have your masters in psychology.
 Salary and Benefits- $69,280 yearly
 Career Outlook- I think because of how right now new
studies are coming up with stuff on new mental illnesses,
and emotional illnesses, in ten years there will be lots of
jobs in this field.
 Lifestyle/Lifestyle Goals: The lifestyle of
an everyday counselor is average. Your
pay is a little low so you get an average
house, not small but not big, and the
average car.
 Location: As a counselor you mostly work
local from your house, or a small office.
 Career Cluster: Humanitarian

and care for others. You have to be able to deal with teeth
and mouths.

healthcare, examining teeth and diagnosing patients' dental
conditions by using tools such as x-rays, assessing treatment
options and agreeing treatment plans with patients, carrying
out agreed clinical treatments such as restoring teeth affected
by decay and treating gum disease, maintaining patients'
dental records, recruiting, training and managing staff.
 Working w/ Data, People, and Things- you have to enter all
the patient data into computers and charts. You have to be
very friendly with your patients. And all your equipment
has to be clean all the time.
Work Environment- Friendly, playful,
and safe.
Working hours- Normal shift hours.
Aptitudes & Abilities- Structured,
Patient facing, and Independent.
