Who Am I
 I am a junior here at Smithtown High School West
 I play varsity baseball and I am hoping to go to college on a
baseball scholarship.
In college I would like to get into a Physical therapy program. I
love sports and I would enjoy working with people who suffered
sports related injuries. I wouldn’t enjoy working in a field that is
behind a desk and very repetitive, I would rather be on my feet
and take on new patients every day with different injuries.

I am a Tactile Learner. I prefer:

 Using physical activity
 Performing tasks like making models and doing lab work.
 Using computers

An occupation that may be a good match is an Athlete. This can be characterized
by or involving physical activity or exertion and an active lifestyle.
What do I like?
I like working with my hands. I enjoy most tech classes in school because I like
working with my hands with tools and machines. Ever since I was a little boy I
was fascinated by finding out how work.

A few definite occupations that would be a good match are:
 Physical Therapist
 Chiropractor
 Veterinarian
 Dentist
Lifestyle Choices-My Goals

1 Year Out:
In one year I’ll be 17 years old and a senior. By this time I’m hoping to have chosen the college
of my choice or at least narrowed down my possibilities to a maximum of three schools. I
am hoping to have applied myself increasingly to school and be selected to All Suffolk
    County Baseball team.

5 Years Out:
In five years I’ll be in college earning my doctorates degree in Physical Therapy. I’ll be living in
a dorm or maybe at this point an apartment. I own a car, but it is not very expensive. I am
not married and I have no children. In my spare time I play baseball for my college.

10 Years Out:
In ten years I’ll be out of college and 26 years old, only a few years out of college. I will have
joined a physical therapy practice in hopes of one day taking over my mentors’. I’ll be living
in my own apartment and be driving a newer car.
What are my work Values?
My two most important work values are:
Achievement- I would like a job that lets me use my best abilities and see the
results of my efforts. Jobs with a sense of accomplishment would interest me.
Relationships- I would like a job where my co-workers and people I work with are
friendly. I’d love to help people.
In accordance to my work values, two careers that might be a good match are:
5. Pharmacist
6. Athletic Trainer
My Holland Code
My Holland Code is S.I.C. This stands for Social, Investigative, and conventional.

Social indicates that I like to work with people and inform, help, and enlighten them.
Investigative indicates that I like to observe, learn, investigate, analyze, evaluate or
   solve problems.
Conventional indicates I like to work with data, have clerical or numerical ability,
carry out tasks in detail or follow through on others' instructions.
Occupational Therapist
 This career corresponds with the first letter of my Holland Code,
    Social.
 An Occupational Therapist works with disabled people to help
with rehabilitative programs to help restore vocational,
homemaking, and daily skills, while also helping them gain
    general independence.
 It requires a person who is very social and enjoys working with
people everyday, as well as someone with patience and willing to
    teach someone.
 Active Listening is a valuable and necessary skill to posess in
this career. You must give full attention to people, ask questions,
and take time to understand the points being made.
 $48,000 for entry level workers and $78,420 for experienced
    workers.
Pharmacist
 This corresponds with the second letter of my Holland Code, Investigative.
 Pharmacist make/compound and dispense medications following prescriptions
    issued by medical practitioners.
 They’d have to enjoy frequently working with ideas and it requires an extensive
    amount of thinking.
 They need to be active listeners and speakers to convey information effectively.
It requires a fair amount of math and science.
 $81,180 (per year) for entry level workers and $120,100 (per year) for
    experienced workers.
Statistician
 This job corresponds with the third letter of my Holland Code,
    Conventional.
 Statisticians apply mathematical theory and methods to collect,
interpret and summarize numerical into usable information.
 One who wishes to become a statistician must be interested in
frequently following set routines and procedures. A statistician
would probably enjoy working with data rather than ideas.
 A statistician must be good in mathematics and must be able to
apply math to problem solving. They will have to be sufficient in
critical thinking; using logic to determine strengths and
weaknesses of alternative solutions. They may also have to be
good public speakers to convey information to others effectively.
 $50,000 (per year) for entry level workers and $84,860 (per year)
    for experienced workers.
Birkman Test
 My colors are Red and yellow.
 People with red Interests like hands-on / problem solving job
responsibilities and professions that involve practical, technical, and
    objective activities.
 People with yellow styles perform their job responsibilities in a manner
that is orderly and planned to meet a known schedule. They prefer to work
where things get done with a minimum of interpretation and unexpected
    change.
Veterinarian
 Veterinarians specialize in medical services for animals. Sometimes it can be a
very difficult job simply because animals can't communicate their symptoms to
the doctor. Therefore the Doctor must be very attentive in their observations in
    order to make accurate diagnosis.

 Two years out most Vets are still completing their residencies. It is best to "get
your feet wet" before actually choosing a specialty. Most vets retires vets, and
occasionally after being in the field for a long time they take on aspiring vets to
help instruct them and teach them.

 Related majors are Animal science, agriculture, pre-veterinary medicine, and
    bilogoy.
Marines-Enlisted
 A Marine has to be ready to defend this country on a minutes n0tice and they
got through intense training for months to attain proper physical attributes of the
demanding job. They can be based in any part of the world and their jobs can be
incredibly exciting. Those who don't like taking orders and are unwilling to
conform to standard military orders should not join the marines, rather any part
    of the armed forces.
 Five years out most marines are finished or are near the end of their tour of
active duty. The marines offers more than 200 technical schools available to
train enlistees for other work when their tour of duty is up.
Baseball Player
 A baseball player is a professional athlete and although very few people actually
get an opportunity to play baseball for a living, it is a dream job for many. There
are many steps to becoming a pro, which most notably includes the minor
    leagues.

 2 years out most players if not all players are in the minor leagues maturing
physically as well as mentally. Everyone is treated the same at this point in their
career. 10 years out most players have had good careers and their salaries
    have skyrocketed.
The End
