HOW TO SOLVE THE 5 BIGGEST PROBLEMS IN WORKPLACE LEARNINGHuman Capital Media
L&D professionals work hard to help their people and organizations succeed. Unfortunately, these efforts are derailed over and over by the same systemic problems. And it's not just you! Companies all over the world are experiencing the same issues when it comes to learning at work. Enough! It's time to fix the fundamental issues that frustrate L&D and limit their potential value.
We'll show you how global organizations are solving the 5 BIGGEST problems in workplace learning:
No clear value to the business ("We never get a seat at the table!")
Compliance training ("Not another long, boring eLearning module!")
Constantly shifting priorities ("We need training on this tomorrow!")
Inability to get frontline management buy-in ("We don't have time for learning!")
Poor employee engagement ("We have to chase people down to complete training!")
We'll share practical tips to help you overcome these challenges and stay focused on the problems that really matter to your business.

Interview
Questions
1. What
do
you
do
in
your
job?
I
work
in
the
Information
Technology
field
within
the
Department
of
Commerce
2. What
is
a
typical
day
like
for
the
position?
Well
I
go
through
lots
of
phone
call
conference
meetings.
I
also
make
many
phone
calls
throughout
the
day,
I
am
on
a
constant
move
here,
and
I
often
am
the
project
manager
for
the
many
tasks
my
department
undertakes.
3. What
hours
do
you
work?
I
work
from
8
am-‐
5pm
4. What
school
subjects
are
important
for
this
job?
I
would
say
business
courses
are
the
most
important,
because
you
constantly
have
to
come
up
with
a
plan
that
will
be
beneficial
for
you
organization,
which
requires
a
business
mindset.
Also,
when
we
want
to
do
a
certain
project,
you
must
be
able
to
come
up
with
a
business
plan
that
will
convince
the
government
why
they
should
give
us
money
for
our
projects.
5. How
and
when
did
you
decide
to
enter
this
job?
My
previous
boss
was
retiring
so
he
wanted
to
help
me
out
before
he
left
and
recommended
me
to
where
I
am
at
now.
6. What
are
the
most
rewarding
aspects
of
the
position?
What
are
the
most
challenging
components
of
the
position?
The
most
rewarding
aspects
of
the
position
is
when
a
project
is
has
successfully
launched
and
concluded.
It
is
so
wonderful
to
see
how
so
many
people
can
create
such
amazing
systems,
programs,
and
organizations
for
the
average
citizen’s
benefit.
What
can
be
most
challenging
is
when
we
run
out
of
money
that
the
government
offered
us,
because
then
it
not
only
slows
us
down,
but
we
have
to
explain
why
we
ran
out,
and
it’s
a
very
complicated
issue.
7. Did
you
have
a
career
plan
that
you
followed?
To
be
honest,
I
didn’t
really
have
a
career
path
when
I
was
in
college,
I
switched
my
major
almost
three
times,
and
well
I
discovered
something
I
found
I
was
good
at,
and
I
took
the
position
offered
to
me
towards
that
field.
8. What
major
changes
have
happened
in
your
career
area
since
you
have
been
working?
The
obvious
answer
here
is
technology.
It
has
been
drastically
advanced,
and
often
I
find
my
peers
taking
courses
just
to
learn
the
things
that
the
average
college
student
already
knows.
Technology
is
outdating
us.
9. Would
you
change
anything
about
your
job?
Nope,
I
love
my
job,
I
think
everybody
is
great
here,
and
even
though
it
stresses
me
out,
I
love
coming
back
to
my
job.
10. Did
school
prepare
you
adequately
for
your
work?
College
prepared
me
with
about
70%
if
the
knowledge
I
needed
to
be
successful
here.
The
rest
comes
merely
from
experience.
11. How
do
you
coordinate
your
family/home/job
responsibilities?
Well
for
me,
the
best
way
is
to
undertake
everything
day
by
day.
Sometimes
I
start
thinking
about
how
stressful
the
whole
week
is
going
to
be,
and
then
I
start
getting
anxiety
attacks.
But
then
I
try
to
remind
myself
to
just
handle
issues
and
situations
as
they
come.
12. What
personal
characteristics
are
important
in
your
job?
(Working
with
people,
data,
good
speaking
and
writing
skills
working
under
pressure,
working
inside
or
outside)
Well
the
most
important
characteristics
that
will
help
you
go
through
this
job
everyday
is
definitely
being
able
to
work
under
high
pressure,
being
able
to
write
well,
as
often
I
am
the
editor
of
the
summary
documents
we
send
over
to
the
government.
I
also
think
you
must
be
able
to
work
in
groups,
because
all
of
our
projects
are
group
projects,
and
it
takes
way
more
than
one
mind
to
get
through
it.
