– Childhood messages
• “You should be a lawyer…”
• “You’re not the successful one.”
• “Jobs are just for money. It’s just a job.”
– Current challenges
• Recent emotional trauma (such as a loss or divorce)
• Family pressures (especially spouse)
• Underlying anxiety or depression

• Career blocks
– Not knowing what to do next
– Not getting good results from search
– Needing guidelines for networking and info
interviews
– Needing realistic understanding of different fields
– Frustrated with researching opportunities

• Don’t look forward to today’s activities
• Want to spend more time doing something
