Jesus uses the analogy of a grapevine to illustrate the close relationship between himself and his disciples, where he is the vine and they are the branches, and they must abide or dwell in one another. To abide in Christ means he continually purifies us, gives us the ability to bear fruit, answers our prayers according to his will, and we abide in him by letting his word dwell in us through obedience. If we do not abide in him by bearing fruit, we will be cut off as fruitless branches and be lost.

A man whose love for God’s presence compels him to have personal communion with Him. Isa 55:6
ll the difficulties of a wilderness must not put
us out of tune with God; but even then it is our duty and interest to keep up a cheerful communion with God.
We must long to behold the glory of the Lord so as to be changed into the same image. 2 Co. 3: 18.
It’s not about the quantity of what you have, but the quality of your existence. A life of hope, peace, love and contentment. This is a life where His love is manifested and experienced every day that it overflows with your every action. You were created to experience Jesus in your life!
A sermon on "Nothing." The Bible does say much about "nothing" if you take time to search. It is an interesting study.

And third, because Jesus is alive, it changes our future (Easter instills hope). This message was delivered at LifePointe Church on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)
Exactly how are we be led by the Holy Spirit?
Exactly how does the Holy Spirit communicate to all of us in this life?
If the Bible calls the Holy Spirit our Guide and Teacher in this life, then this means He will attempt to communicate to all of us from time to time.
Otherwise we will never be able to pick up from Him exactly what He is trying to teach us or tell us to do.
The very first thing we need to know if we want to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit is that
We can develop a direct personal relationship with Him
Just like you already have with God and Jesus.
Here are two key verses from the apostle Paul telling us that we are allowed to have direct communication and direct fellowship with the Holy Spirit Himself:
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit …” (Phillippians 2:1)
This message is Part 4 of the series “The Heart Of LifePointe Church” by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message Pastor Chuck reviews the purpose, mission and vision of our church and discussed the Biblical foundation that undergirds everything we do.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Renewed in Grace
1. Abiding in Christ and He in
Us John 15:1-8
Jesus uses the familiar grape vine to illustrate the close
fellowship that must exist between Him and his disciples.
He is the vine we are the branches. The relationship is so
close that it can be said that each is abiding or dwelling in
the other - “abide in me and I in you.” (v. 4).
Paul said, “Christ liveth in me” (Gal. 2:20). Without this vital
connection we cannot survive and function spiritually.
But, what does it mean to abide in Him and He in us?
How can we be in Christ and at the same time He be in us?
2. The Benefits of This Abiding.
• He continually purges or cleanses or purifies us (vv. 2-3).
• By application of His word (v. 3; 1 Pet 1:22)
• By walking in the light and confessing our sins (1 John
1:7-9).
• By the trials of a Christian (1 Pet. 1:6,7).
• He gives us the ability to bear fruit (vv. 4, 5).
• We are His workmanship created unto good works (Eph. 2:10).
• We can do “all things” through Him (Phil. 3:12).
• He answers our prayers (v. 7).
• If the asking is according to his will (1 John 5:14).
• If the desired answer is according to his will.
3. The Means of This Abiding.
• He abides in us as his word abides in us.
• Likewise, we abide in Him as we “abide” in His word
(John 8:31 ASV, NKJ).
• Same is true of the spirit abiding or dwelling in us (Col.
3:16; Eph. 5:18, 19).
• He continues to abide in us only if we bear fruit (v. 2).
• He gives us the ability to bear fruit.
• If we do not use that ability we will be cut off.
4. The Alternative to This Abiding.
•We either abide and bear fruit or not be his
disciples (v. 8).
•We can either abide and bear fruit or be
cast away, gathered up and burned (vv. 2,6).
•Possible for a Christian to be cast forth – fall
away.
• Possible to grafted in again before the
burning (cf. Rom. 11:23; Jas. 5:19, 20).
5. Conclusion:
•We cannot abide him unless we are first in
Him.
•We are baptized into Him (Gal. 3:26, 27).
•We will abide in Him and He in us as long as
we continue to let his word abide in us and
we abide in his word through obedience to
it.
•Otherwise we will cast forth as a fruitless
branch and be lost.
