If we believe in Christ, the glory days are not behind us but ahead as we move from one degree of glory to another.

1. 2 Corinthians 3:7-8
Now if the ministry that brought death, which
was engraved in letters on stone, came with
glory, so that the Israelites could not look
steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory,
fading though it was, will not the ministry of the
Spirit be even more glorious?

2. 2 Corinthians 3:9-11
If the ministry that condemns men is glorious,
how much more glorious is the ministry that
brings righteousness! For what was glorious has
no glory now in comparison with the surpassing
glory. And if what was fading away came with
glory, how much greater is the glory of that
which lasts!

3. 2 Corinthians 3:12-13
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are
very bold. We are not like Moses, who would
put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from
gazing at it while the radiance was fading away.

4. 2 Corinthians 3:14-16
But their minds were made dull, for to this day
the same veil remains when the old covenant is
read. It has not been removed, because only in
Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when
Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But
whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is
taken away.

5. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit
of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who
with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory,
are being transformed into His likeness with
ever-increasing glory, which comes from the
Lord, Who is the Spirit.

6. We can focus on what we are LOSING or GAINING.
Hebrew word for glory means “WEIGHT” and
points to what you are KNOWN for.
To speak of God’s glory is to speak of something
that makes VISIBLE His presence, power, etc.
What we mean by the ‘glory
days’ is that in some way we
view the PAST as better than the
PRESENT.

7. Paul articulates a CONTRAST between the Old
Covenant and New Covenant.
The old could CONDEMN but not empower.
The law is no longer the foundation of our
relationship with God, JESUS is.
Some Jewish believers want to
return to what they perceived as
the GLORY DAYS

8. The Spirit not only shows us the
RIGHT but enables us to do
RIGHTLY

11. The Jews related to God through the LAW whereas
we relate to God through His SPIRIT.
We are to BEHOLD His glory in order to REFLECT it.
We are to grow in His IMAGE with a view to
sharing in His glory.
