Indigenous people in North America wore clothing made of animal skins and woven plants that was suitable for the seasons and decorated with porcupine quills, teeth or beads. They hunted and gathered foods like salmon, trout, acorns, berries and other plants but did not farm. They lived nomadically in various dwelling structures like wickiups, roundhouses and teepees depending on the materials available to them, moving in search of food sources.

2. For men in hot weather they wore
breechcloths made of animal skins or
woven grass or reeds. When it got
colder they would add deerskin shirts,
leggings, or woven plant fiber. Women
wore dresses of skins, and in winter
they wore cotton.They decorated their
clothing with porcupine quills, elk
teeth or breeds. also sometimes in
winter they wore buckskin aprons and
perhaps a fur wrap draped around
their shoulders. Some fiber woven
sandals but, most went barefoot.

6. They moved in search of food. They lived in
wickiups, round houses, teepees, and a different
structure of wickiups. Wickiups were made of
branches, grasses, and stage brush. Round
houses were made of planks of redwood made
into a pyramid shape. Teepees were made of
grass mats or animal skins. The other structure
of wickiups was made of palm branches.
