Experiment A involved reacting excess zinc granules with 50 cm3 of 0.5 mol/dm3 sulfuric acid, producing 0.6 dm3 of gas. Experiment B involved reacting excess zinc granules with 50 cm3 of 0.5 mol/dm3 hydrochloric acid, producing 0.3 dm3 of gas. Changing the zinc from granules to powder would not change the amount of gas collected. Repeating the experiments with 2g of zinc granules would still produce 0.6 dm3 of gas for Experiment A. Using a higher acid concentration of 1.0 mol/dm3 would produce 0.72 dm3 of gas for Experiment A.
