Installation/Upgrade process and Maintenance. A review as to
how and where to pick up the Software, and a brief CSM demo
on the Installation and maintenance process.

§ CA Datacom/DB – full-blown development environment
– DB license allows sites to define any databases/tables they desire
– Online interface available through CICS
– Many, many options
§ CA Datacom/AD – full functionality, but only for CA-defined
databases used by other CA mainframe products
– Only useable by certain CA mainframe products as their data
repository
– No CICS interface

§ CA Datacom aware of CA mainframe products that are valid
users of CA Datacom/AD
§ Internal checks block any attempt by a user to install any
database/table definitions that are not authorized
§ CA Datacom/AD by its design can accommodate any number
of AD using products in a single instance
§ Some CA products insist on a private instance of AD for
architectural or installation reasons

§ Locate the PAX:
– CA Support Online (http://support.ca.com)
– Login, Download Center, Download Products
– Select CA Datacom/AD – MVS
– Click Download and choose between 3 download methods:
– HTTP (Download Manager), HTTP (Browser), FTP

§ Read or download README file (for latest updates)
§ Complete the Installation Worksheet found in the
documentation
§ Ensure you have authority to create/delete directories in USS
§ Create a USS directory where you’ll download the PAX file

§ Copy CA Datacom/AD PAX file to the USS directory you
created and unpax the file
§ Edit member UNZIPJCL to unzip the PAX and create the
SAMPJCL and REL files
§ Successful completion creates the HLQ.CAI.SAMPJCL library
§ Edit member AAXSEDIT and place it in your CLIST library
§ Rename it to AD15

§ Review requirements for Error HOLDDATA

Applying Maintenance to an Existing CSI (ESD)
§ Two required steps in applying CA Datacom/AD maintenance
– Download any HOLDDATA to your existing CSI environment
§ Edit and submit member AAX1HOLD from CAI.SAMPJCL library
§ HOLDDATA is downloaded to a dataset to be used as you do RECEIVE, APPLY
and ACCEPT steps
– Review and download the appropriate CA RS level
§ Edit and submit member AAX6CARS from the CAI.SAMPJCL library
§ CA RS maintenance is downloaded from CA Support Online into a dataset
you will use to do RECEIVE, APPLY and ACCEPT steps

§ Select the CSI(s) to be maintained. Under Actions, select
Upgrade CA RS Level and follow prompts

– AXCUS00 creates PDS INSTJCL to store post-install members
– $DCAXEDT is posted to the CLIST library
– AXCUSNEW performs all custom assemblies to populate CUSMAC,
CUSPROC and CUSLIB libraries
– AXRIM01 executes CAIRIM to load the program call routines (DBPCCPR,
DBPCSPR)
– AXNEW01 creates, initializes and loads all system files (CXX, LXX, FXX)
and supporting databases (002, 015)
– AD15STRT starts up the MUF

§ AXCUS00 creates PDS INSTJCL to store post-install members
§ $DCAXEDT is posted to the CLIST library
§ AXCUSACT creates an Upgrade Library (ACT.INSTJCL) with
specific members needed to perform the Active MUF
Upgrade.

§ AXACTUPG performs all custom assemblies required. Before
execution, make sure to cross-reference the parameters of
DBSIDPR to ensure 14.0 AD and 15.0 AD match
§ AXAPFADD APF Authorizes both CUSLIB and CAAXLOAD target
library, a requirement for MUF
§ AXRIM01 executes CAIRIM to load the program call routines
§ AD15STUP starts up the MUF with the 15.0 Custom and Target
libraries and 14.0 dataset names.

Post-Install – CA Datacom/AD (Active MUF Upgrade)
§ Completing the upgrade – after no possibility of fallback
– Run following jobs at your leisure, no outage if using Shadow MUF
– AXACTALC allocates the backup datasets before proceeding
– AXACTDD1 executes DBUTLTY to back up CXX, DD and DDD
– AXACTDD2 performs maintenance to Datadictionary
– AXACTDYN installs the 15.0 version of the Dynamic System Tables to
complete the Active MUF Upgrade process
§ Fallback to 14.0 if needed
– AXACTDD1R restores the CXX, DD and DDD from 14.0 backups
– AXACTDYR restores the definition of the 14.0 Dynamic System Tables
Completing the Upgrade, Fallback – Only for 14.0 to 15.0
