BUSINESS DEVOTION: Consider the Source (Hebrews 4:12-13) - The Bible has a vital role in our lives, but few of us live consistently under its authority. All of us can benefit from growing here, but this takes day-after-day intentionality. Psalm 119 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” and “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” None of us can consistently discern God’s will apart from His Word. We hide it in our hearts in order to apply it during the tumult of our daily lives.
WORKING ON OUR BUSINESS: Compensation: A Biblical Perspective - This classic C12 segment validates “pay for performance” as the Biblical compensation model. This is the first in a series of five C12 segments focused on effectively connecting compensation with performance. Test your own approach to see whether it breeds entitlement or personal responsibility, performance, and teamwork.
WORKING ON OUR MINISTRY THROUGH BUSINESS: The Most Helpful Counsel - This segment is a primer on how to give and receive godly counsel. It’s aimed at helping us maximize the opportunity for wise counsel and accountability within our C12 peer groups to generate increased value-added impact and eternal fruitfulness.
DEVOTION
Riches Beyond Measure (Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:34)
The contrast between the eternal perspective and worldly thinking is perhaps easiest to grasp as we define “treasure” or “riches.” Jesus’ clear words, relating our hearts to our treasures, help us consider our daily motivation as business leaders.
BUSINESS
Providing Enough Stability to Encourage Change (Part 1)
Building trust is the basis for a culture with sufficient security and stability to enable team members to embrace change. A self-assessment test helps
us evaluate the current level of trust within our companies. Practical “trust-builders” are suggested to enhance trust with our stakeholders.
MINISTRY
Why Don’t We Witness?
This challenging segment confronts the issue of why so few Christians witness, let alone witness well. It questions some dubious, well-worn rationalizations about witnessing such as, “I just live my life as a Christian and wait for others to ask me why.”
Have you lost some of your best people to your competition? Learn from an Executive Search Consultant what makes your people impossible to recruit. These slides were taken from a webinar on FXConferences
This presentation was deliveed by Lucy Caldicott @LucyCaldicott, Catherine Miles @Cadders68 and Liz Tait @LizTait at the Institute of Fundraising National Convention aimed at those who may not want to be a Director of Fundraising but want to have a fundraising career all the same. In this presentation they show you what makes people stand out at each level of seniority and what’s different about each level.

Built off of the long standing concept of a "balanced scorecard," as a follower of Jesus in business we must do the hard work of integrating every aspect of operating a business with our faith and His Way. Worship, mission and ministry flow through every domain of the business - or is called to!
6 Characteristics of High Trust Teams - October 2015Mike Sharrow
This worksheet will be the context of assessment and application of our October 2015 C12 "working on my business" curriculum across all 200+ round table meetings in the US. As a follow up to the September 2015 personal assessment on Leadership Trust, this will assess organizational readiness to navigate seasons of rapid change adoption and adaptation.

Strategic Planning Guide - a resource from the C12 GroupMike Sharrow
The gravity of business naturally pulls you to work IN the business, but how often and how well are you pulling up to work ON the business? Do you have a framework of proactive goals, leading indicators and measures to ensure you are truly being successful at the mission versus the misleading sense of success from simply surviving?
This resource represents a dense strategy kit reflecting snippets of materials we use in C12 on a regular basis to ensure businesses are stewarded well. We invite you to use this resource to help you take a sharp look at God's business you are leading in and if you are ready to seek out the "wise counsel" King Solomon admonished good leaders to have in place, contact us.
If God owns everything and you are a steward under His leadership, wouldn't it make sense that God's businesses would be characterized by excellence, beauty, creativity, high performance, integrity (doing what you said when you said it), truth and enduring strength?
C12 Group - Implementing Performance Pay Strategies WorksheetMike Sharrow
a summary document of a 5 month look at how compensation and organizational commitment to robust good health across an eternally balanced scorecard plays out
Trust is essential in leading teams through change, navigating uncertainty, advancing mission and leaving enduring legacies. Unlike other "factors" in team health, the aggregate score does not indicate the Trust Quotient - each link breaks the chain. Evaluate your trust factor, solicit 360 input/feedback from your team and then assess where action can be taken to raise the tide!

Building & Sustaining a Coaching Culture - Bill Medd, Legacy Bowes GroupMBHomeBuilders
The opportunity for coaching occurs at every level throughout an organization. Employees move through roles and responsibilities that change from a narrow focus to leadership roles where process, task and people skills are required, to senior level roles with a focus on communication, influencing and strategic thinking. No individual has well developed skills in all areas upon assuming a new job and a good coach will identify areas for development and provide support and follow up in a consistent manner.
We can all become effective coaches and help our organization develop a coaching culture. It's good for our employees, good for us and good for the organization as a whole.
This presentation represents the amount of growth I gained throughout my first semester my senior year in the IA. The presentation provides all my work I have done such as running a business, making podcasts, my media and my blogs.
Partnership gets a lot of lip-service: we want to be loved for what we’re doing now, we want them to change, not us, we want them to give it to us; we don’t want to earn it….What it really takes to be partners? What kind of skills and knowledge partners got to have and what behaviours they have to be engaged in?
You might feel the signs of broken business relationship, but it is hard to diagnose. If you observe that between you (or your organization) and you business partner there are occasions of interpersonal conflicts, “us and them” mentality, defensiveness, finger pointing, non-constructive criticism, there is a good chance that you relationship need repair. You can fix them, if you follow the right steps.Business Relationship Management is partially art and partially science. First, you need to earn trust in the eyes of your partner and prove your credibility and second, you need to develop right competencies of yours and capabilities of your organization.

What are the main advantages of using HR recruiter services.pdfHumanResourceDimensi1
HR recruiter services offer top talents to companies according to their specific needs. They handle all recruitment tasks from job posting to onboarding and help companies concentrate on their business growth. With their expertise and years of experience, they streamline the hiring process and save time and resources for the company.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

3. Devotion: Consider the Source
Business: Compensation: A Biblical Perspective
Ministry: The Most Helpful Counsel
5. Devotion Consider the Source
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any
double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and
spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from
God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before
the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
Hebrews 4:12-13
God means what He says. What He says goes. His powerful
Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through
everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to
listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s
Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.
MSG
6. Devotion
‣ What’s the importance of the phrase “living and
active?”
‣ What does it mean that the Word “penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow?”
‣ What’s so important about the “thoughts and attitudes
of the heart?” What does God’s Word say about our
hearts?
Consider the Source
7. What’s the source of the most valuable counsel we can
give each other?
(a) Our own personal experience?
(b) Reasoning?
(c) Popularity (i.e., what’s most generally acceptable)?
(d) What will produce the greatest financial return?
(e) God’s Word?
(f) Answers revealed in response to prayer, or some
combination of these sources?
Devotion Consider the Source
8. Devotion Consider the Source
If we agree…
A. Why don’t we seek out His will via His Word more
rigorously?
B. Do we have future, aspirational statements about
eventually getting better at this? What’s the cost of
“not yet?” What’s the risk?
C. Do I want to become more or less dependent on
God? How can I become more dependent?
D. When we’re not transparent before God who are we
fooling?
10. Devotion
What would need to change tomorrow?
Is there an area you are avoiding Him?
Is there an aspect of your life or His business you have
not submitted or surrendered completely to Him?
September & October dealt with
issues of trust, transparency, and
isolation.
For November what’s the
underlying issue? Do I trust God?
Do I trust His Word? Do I really
want accountability? Or do I
want my will more than His?
Consider the Source

Working on my business
15. The Three Signs of a Miserable Job - Patrick Lencioni
Anonymity:
People need to be understood and appreciated by
someone in a position of authority;
Irrelevance:
Everyone needs to know their job matters to someone;
Immeasurement:
Employees need to be able to gauge their progress and
level of contribution for themselves.
Working on my business
16. Working on my business
The primary source of job misery and the potential cure
resides in the hands of one individual—the direct
manager.
Even employees who are well paid, do interesting work,
and have great autonomy, cannot feel fulfilled at work
if their managers fail to provide them with what they
need on a daily or weekly basis.
Take a genuine interest in your employees. Ask them
about their lives and what matters to them. As a
manager, your ability to affect your people’s lives is
huge.

26. Blind Spots … What are they?
(what we don’t know we don’t know)
Blind Spots are patterns of thinking, feeling and
behaving we often do unconsciously that can
negatively influence our relationships with other
people. They often show up when we are under
stress and overuse our greatest strengths.
So why are blind spots a big deal?
BlindSpots can become possible problems in our
working processes and relationship and if left
unchecked, they can become serious obstacles to
our progress.

Working on my ministry in God’s business
28. How our board gives and receives feedback is
vitally important and we cannot settle for less
than God’s best if we want to accomplish His
Highest.
Now, let’s take a minute to honestly consider
and discuss if counsel through our board is
impaired by any of four typical stumbling blocks.
Working on my ministry in God’s business
29. Working on my ministry in God’s business
Settling or Satisficing -
GOOD ENOUGH is the enemy of BEST.
Do we seek genuine counsel in the first place or
simply decide what we want and look for
confirmation?
How is our behavior muting or ignoring healthy
dialogue at the table?
NOTE: “Satisficing” is a term that combines
satisfy and suffice and refers to settling for a sub-
optimal result, decision, or approach because it’s
comfortable, convenient, and/or GOOD ENOUGH.
30. Working on my ministry in God’s business
Not caring enough to fully speak the
truth in love -
Are we reluctant to offer the full truth? Why?
Doesn’t God tell us that withholding ministry to
others is a sin?
What is your trust level at this table to give
feedback and to receive it?
How can we all get to a full “10" in both?
31. Working on my ministry in God’s business
Thinking unbiblically -
How do we avoid “worldly wisdom”?
Are we asking often enough “what does the bible
say about this?”
Are we seeking a biblical principle every time?
32. Working on my ministry in God’s business
Underestimating the enemy -
What are the traps?
Are we fully investing in the process?
33. C12’s model is predicated on gathering together
God’s business leaders to help one another through
mutual learning, accountability, and seeking best
practice improvements constant with Godly counsel.

Employees of C12 businesses can take advantage of business degree programs with the guarantee that their tuition costs upon
entry will not be raised as long as they continue with the program cohort with which they entered until graduation. This offer
extends to active members of C12, and to their employees whose program candidacy is specifically endorsed by an active C12
member. C12 members with 2+ years will receive partial credit (up to 9 credit hours) toward their chosen degree track based
on demonstrated learning (assessed in a portfolio evaluation process). Grad Degree courses are generally three credit hours
apiece taken over a 7 week period via digital distance learning.
