Final Project: Charity Drive Event Report

4. Daniel Thiew Ynn Fon
Objectives
a) Your chosen charity organization and the reason(s) that you
are supporting it; &
-After a long research and decision making, we
finally conclude to support Tsu Ji. Tsu Ji is an
international network of volunteers that has been
awarded a special consultative status at the United
Nations Economic and Social Council.
-The very reason is that, whether it's at the hospital,
relief centres or the airport, Tsu Ji are ever ready to
aid either victim or their loved ones. We can see
throughout how they help the flood victims in eight
states in Peninsular Malaysia which happen
recently by distributing food and water in the relief
centres to make sure that the flood victims have
food supplies.
b) The quantifiable objectives that you want to accomplish (e.g.
target donation amount, target sales units, etc.) during the
charity drive event.
We tried our best to get the target donation amount and we
were satisfy and happy that we hit the target with the support
that was voluntary given:
-Target donation amount RM1250
-Target sales units 220
-The time and effortto open the stall- 4 to 5 hours per day in a
week
Target Market
1. Our market is made up mostly Taylor’s University
students and staffs. We have students age ranging
from 17 to around 25 years old studying different
courses in the school, such as culinary art, business,
engineering, architecture and design.
2. Also, we have international from different
countries, such as Africa, USA and China. Thus, they
are having different flavor that they like.
3. Nowadays, food that easy to eat and the price are
cheap will attract peoples. So, most of the people
in campuswill buy hotdogs or drink with us
because our drinks are only cost Rm1 for each cup
and Rm4 for a hotdog with bun.
4. John known as a good cooker. People who saw
John in our stall will believe that our foods are
deliciousbecause the hotdogs was fried by John.
5. Mostly, Taylos’s University’s student and stuffs
come from nicer families and bacgrounds. By
average, they will spend up Rm10 to Rm50 per day.

Product Popularity
Food is a need for everyone, hot dog bun, sausage, and soft
drink can last long and won’t be expired or turn bad easily
but, it doesn’t mean that we sell the previousday cooked
sausage and sell the next day, we have no chance to do this
because we can surely sell all the sausage that we cooked in
that day. It was quite popularwhile too, mostly of the buyers
are not Malaysianthey came from other country. They can
eat such cheap hot dog where you can’t even find in the
campus. It is worth to spend maximum of RM 5, which
includeHot Dog Bun and Soft Drink.
Strategies for difficulty selling the product
Basicaly we have no face serious diffuclty on selling our
product, the only problem that we faces was, on the first day
No. Types

Our Poster
c) Justification of chosen strategies and tools.
1. To attract more customers
2. To gain more income money
3. Fast to reach the goal of donation money
(RM2,500.00)
4. Change the customers “thought of the expensive
products”
Sponsors
1. In this charity fund raising project, we have collected
Rm1225 in total from sponsors from each group
member’s parent and donation.(Rm800 from
sponsors and Rm425 from donation)All group
members parents were acknowledge of this charity
drive purpose and were informed of the receiver of
these donations– Tzu Chi Foundation.
2. Chong Jin Feng, our group leader is the one who
gotten his sponsorship from Wisdom Y&Y sdn bhd. He
approachedthe boss of Wisdom Y&Y sdn bhd via face
to face meeting and received the sponsorship after a
formal sponsorship letter was issued to the company
after meeting. Before this John has fail to request
sponsorship from Kedai kopi Tong Nam Bee, JianHwa
Hardware and Metro Home Décor.
3. All the donationswere received in cash form and on
the spot.
Distribution
a) How to get the products to your sales location (e.g. the
Lakeside campus, other campuses, shopping malls,
neighborhood, etc.)?
-Basically we bought the food materials and cook it beforehand
and personally bring the food to Lakeside Campus to sell it with
ease.
-We also brought a tray to display our product and carry around
in the other campus such as Sunway and Inti which is in
Subang.
b) How quickly can you deliver the products i.e. do customers
need to wait for their products? How can you minimize the
waiting time?
-We just need to squeeze up some mayonnaise and either
tomato or chili sauce and the customer will have their product.
-Actually there is no particular waiting time for us because the
hotdog buns are cooked beforehand and we can easily sell it
with no trouble.
c) How many customers can you reach effectively i.e. getting a
sale, a donation, etc.? This is determined by the number of
sales people you have.
-The customer that we can reach per day are around 40 to 50
people. We are all around every day during that week to
maximize the selling capabilities.
d) Can your customers order your products online? Via phone?
This makes it easier for them to buy your products.
Yes. You can call our phone number to order your required
amount and during that day u call, tomorrow u may get your
product from us at the stall.
Green Measures
a) Are your chosen products made in an environmentally-
conscious manner? If not, how can you reduce/eliminate its
hazardous effects?
-Yes. It is environmental friendly because we cooked it
beforehand without exposing the cooking smoke that will
pollute the environmental air.
b) Is the product packaging environmental-friendly i.e. only
minimal waste created or packaging reusable/recyclable?
-Yes. We only use brown food wrapping paper and plastic cups
for the customer to take around. After finishing their food, they
can just dispose it in the recycle bin which will benefit not only
the janitor but also the environment.
c) How do you reduce carbon footprint during the distribution
stage?
-Firstly is eat everything you buy. Secondly is to
reduce food waste which is to sell as much as we
can. Lastly is to buy the materials in local area so
the food won’t be often damaged in transit.
d) How are the product’s wastes managed after use or
consumption?
-There are either consume or wrapped up with the brown food
wrapping paper and dispose it into the nearby trash bin or
recycle bin which is very convenient and won’t get into the
trouble of food stain.
e) What measures can you take to reduce the consumption of
resources like electricity, paper, water, etc. when running the
event?
-Proactively seek to reduce inbound packaging from
suppliers
-Reuse and Recycle as much as possible
-Buy products with high recycled content whenever
we can

running the business for few days, we earned around
Rm320 a day as revenue. After a discussion, we
decided to use another half of our sponsor to buy more

we finally donated RM 2630 to Tze Chi organization with

Distribution a) How to get the products to your sales location (e.g. the Lakeside campus, other campuses, shopping malls, neighborhood, etc.)? -Basically we bought the food materials and cook it beforehand and personally bring the food to Lakeside Campus to sell it with ease. -We also brought a tray to display our product and carry around in the other campus such as Sunway and Inti which is in Subang. b) How quickly can you deliver the products i.e. do customers need to wait for their products? How can you minimize the waiting time? -We just need to squeeze up some mayonnaise and either tomato or chili sauce and the customer will have their product. -Actually there is no particular waiting time for us because the hotdog buns are cooked beforehand and we can easily sell it with no trouble.
  • 13. c) How many customers can you reach effectively i.e. getting a sale, a donation, etc.? This is determined by the number of sales people you have. -The customer that we can reach per day are around 40 to 50 people. We are all around every day during that week to maximize the selling capabilities. d) Can your customers order your products online? Via phone? This makes it easier for them to buy your products. Yes. You can call our phone number to order your required amount and during that day u call, tomorrow u may get your product from us at the stall. After finishing their food, they can just dispose it in the recycle bin which will benefit not only the janitor but also the environment.
  • 14. c) How do you reduce carbon footprint during the distribution stage? -Firstly is eat everything you buy. Secondly is to reduce food waste which is to sell as much as we can. Lastly is to buy the materials in local area so the food won’t be often damaged in transit. d) How are the product’s wastes managed after use or consumption? -There are either consume or wrapped up with the brown food wrapping paper and dispose it into the nearby trash bin or recycle bin which is very convenient and won’t get into the trouble of food stain. e) What measures can you take to reduce the consumption of resources like electricity, paper, water, etc. when running the event? -Proactively seek to reduce inbound packaging from suppliers -Reuse and Recycle as much as possible -Buy products with high recycled content whenever we can Human Resource Planning 1.
