1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
COORDINATOR
The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for the application of knowledge, skills
and abilities to assist with the project duties in order to meet project requirements. The
position requires the ability to identify factors necessary to attract and retain new economic
development interests, coordinates promotional activities such as site tours, presentations for
and meetings between local area business, government, real estate and development
representatives and prospective client companies. Employee will assist and work under the
direction of the Business Development Project Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist Business Development Project Manager in day-to-day project management
Develops key attraction strategies to generate additional leads for the region
Develops creative internal/external marketing strategies for efficient use of resources.
Correspond with various businesses, agencies, community organizations to assist in the
preparation for presentations, meetings and client tours.
Researches and compiles demographic and economic data in response to prospective client
inquiries.
Represents the organization to various private enterprise and public meetings.
Assists in the preparation of grant applications for potential funding sources for economic
development projects. FLSA Status: Exempt
Education and/or Experience
The incumbent must be in the process of obtaining a certification in Economic Development,
CEcD and/or a college degree in a related field. 1-3 years of professional level experience in
commercial/industrial real estate, economic development, research, marketing, government
and/or business development.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact
Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Project Management software;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
