The Finance Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, including
IT systems, budgets, contracts and multiple grants from state and federal funding sources.
Responsibilities involve administrative and professional work which includes supervision,
training and evaluation of the Accounting Department staff; planning and oversight of financial
systems and policy to ensure compliance; budgeting; purchasing; oversight of the annual audit;
liaison with all departments, providing assistance and guidance to program directors on issues
related to finance, budgets, grants and contract management; computerized fund accounting,
including financial statements; and financial management of the employee benefit program.
The Finance Director will assist program directors to prepare annual and long term budgets,
and will monitor and evaluate - on a monthly basis - status of the actual budget performance
versus budget projections. The position is responsible for providing monthly and annual
financial reports. This organization is a multi-grant funded not-for-profit governmental entity
which manages approximately 20 various state or federally funded planning and assistance
grants. This position requires utilizing technology and a high degree of independence, and
regularly requires discretion and independent judgment in determining approaches to be used
for most areas of responsibilities and for evaluating results.
Requirements: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in
Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field and 5+ years of high-level
supervisory/management experience in finance/ accounting setting dealing with multiple grants
and contracts, with relevant experience in a nonnprofit organization. Experience with MIP
