  3. Lets look at australiaAustralian facebook users are the MOST ENGAGED in the world – we love our facebook! Is it the mateship? Is it the isolation?2/3rds of people that like brands on facebook, actually like them – great for business owners78% trust peer recommendations – so that is your word of mouth referrals.So my answer often is – can you afford not to be on facebook? Or – it might be – can you find your best customer audience outside facebook easily? Can you find them better using a different medium?

  5. Here is what we have to keep in mind, whether we use facebook, newspapers… what ever medium we are using to build our business.We have to know who our customer is firstly – we really have to understand them.
  6. Then we have to get them to like us – and in the case of facebook, like our page.Then we want to quickly grow a lucrative fan base of qualifiied leads.We want to create ongoign massive engagement
  7. We then want to turn those fans into customers. So once they like us, we need to woo them so they will grow fromLookersLikersCustomers – who buy something Business lovers – who BUY INAnd all of this is possible using facebook. In fact it can happen more quickly than what you may think.
  8. Firstly, we want to brand our page the right way, so when someone finds us, they stay. and the branding has to be refective of who we want to attract.Know your ideal customer – then show them what you’ve got.Don’t confuse them.
  9. Brand your page the right way – the timeline cover photoGreat real estate, it’s a big image, and you should use it to your benefit.

Email lists are big converters of lookers to custoemrs, to repeat customers.I could do a full presentation on that, but today I’m talking about facebook.But every chance you get, try to get your likers to go on your mailing list.

I understand that is an SEO and web traffic hot spot – so you would want to use your keywords here – like felt rugs. But I can’t seem to find further confirmation of that.If you have a local business, then you would be putting in your address and phone number, that would be important.Use your real estate wisely.
  22. Add a like box to your website.Why?Once you get someone on your website, you don’t want them going over to your facebook page. It’s the opposite. So if you’ve got a like box it is big and obvious. And they will probably click on it.And then they’ll stay on your website.

  26. Facebook has reported that only 16% actually see your posts in their newsfeeds.So this means you’ve got to post in a way that engages them, and get them to do something with your post.So that is what we are focussing on today.

  28. Most people who are on Facebook, are there because they are checking into their personal pages.They don’t want to be met with this! Do they?This is a normal stream that I see in my newsfeed every day.
  29. We like looking at images don’t we. Over reading text.
  30. 6 different kind of image posts ---so you can mix it up a bit and not bore yourself!
  31. Bite sized and easy to interact with. Entertaining. People don’t have a lot of time to spend on your posts, so if you want to entertain, make it funny, or quick, or just put a smile on their face. This is a cup of ice. That is what a slurpee is. So think outside the box a bit. Its egypt, a bit hot, and you might want something cold. But funny that it’s the Sphinx. All round entertaining.
  32. Entertaining again. Are you going to be the same as everyone, or do you want to stand out? This is an icecream. 1 icecream has its ownfacebook page. And guess how many people like this page?To build an audience you want to stand out to the fringes of people, to be outstanding to them, and then the rest will love you too.
  33. It’s a kitkat – 551 likes, 48 shares – makes us feel like they really get us. Also topical and makes you feel all patriotic!!As people click like, then their friends see the post they clicked on. And then because of the way that many people are, they get curious, and wonder what their friend is liking. And maybe they might like it to.But even more powerful, is that 48 people shared it.If you have on average 100 friends on your profile, then this image has just been shared to 4800 people. But think it through further than that. Of those 4800 people, if they click like on it, and they have 100 friends then we’ve got this amazing multiplication effect.And there is lies the power of facebook.Instant word of mouth referral from the click of a mouse!
  34. Topic post -- think newsworthy, and have some fun with your products. Make people smile.
  35. Its almost like celebrity status when we post up our fans. You get a double whammy. They usually see themselves, and the share the image on their own page. Then their friends like it and come on over. A quick snap with your iphone, write down the person’s name and then tag them if you can. Its an unspoken testimonial as well. We do things because we want to be part of the herd – whether you like that idea or not, it is true!VIRAL
  36. We love being thanked!! 1498 like this, and there were 55 shares, and 21 comments. This is a fan image – we love seeing ourselves – it is like being on TV almost! Also, it has been highlighted – or it is the cover page – great use of fan worship.
  37. Can you believe it? It wasn’t a contest, just a random fan painting her nails. Over 4000 likes, and 70 shares.
  38. This is a great way of using your testimonials on facebook.
  39. Pool supply world has 76K likers – for chlorine and creepy crawlies? Apart from the image, what is great about this post? The LIKE! This image does 3 things right. It makes us dream about what we’d love to have – love to be- so its aspirational. 2. It is related to pool supplies, so it is relevant to people who like the page3. They asked for the LIKE. But not only did they get 996 likes, but they also got 130 shares. Amazing engagement!Now if you were a liker, would you be interested to see what they will post tomorrow?
  40. Appliances online sell washing machines. I’ve bought one from them. This post has 96 shares!! Really! Why?Pertinent to the audience. Something simple. Used their logo. Good image – white towels, we all want white towels! And we want them folded as well! – aspirational? They are being helpful here.Good use of words and image together.

And when they are most likely to respond to you.Are they on the bus to work and on their mobile phone?Are they on their ipad at night in front of the tv after the kids have gone to bed?If you don’t know who your profile audience is, then you won’t know the answers to this.

What do I post –you’ve shown me how to post, but not much about what to post.That depends on who your true customer is.If you don’t know who your profile audience is, then you won’t know the answers to this.Profiling and truly knowing your potential customers will mean you are targetting correctly. This will tell you what to post and when to post.And this has everything to do with your business. Who your products and services are created for, what problems they are trying to overcome or what gains they will get from them. To move people from lookers to likers to buyer to business lovers is a process. And if I can say rather unkindly, rubbish in, rubbish out.If you’ve attracted people to your page by running a get a free Ipad contest, when you core business is kids’ clothing, then you’re not focussed on who your customer is.Don’t waste time money or energy doing a shotgun approach.Keep your focus.
