We’re Solving
The Problems
Building software is complex, risky and inefficient because the vast majority of software is built and managed by a
cottage industry of small agencies and generalist developers. The overwhelming nature of software development,
broken process, lack of transparency along with the explicit need to have know-how is why there is an astounding 78%
failure rate of software projects in the SME/SMB space.*
The lack of traditional know-how and the fear of failure often detracts many Builders from even starting at all; so many
ideas that could have been, never are. Entrepreneurs inside and outside of a company simply succumb to inertia, the
fear of failure outweighs the fear of irrelevance.
This cycle of irrelevance & fear, followed by inertia, leads to wasted human potential, on an epic scale.
We come from a belief that this is unacceptable.
8. Why:
To empower people to create software powered ideas so that they can fulfill their potential; the journey from the idea
in their head to the living breathing solution in the real world.
We Do
Why, How & What
How:
We do this by transcending the need for traditional tech knowledge, increasing the efficiency of resources human or
otherwise, and by creating a transparent end to end process that caters to the entire life-cycle of an idea.

20. Cloud Assessment & Migration help the customers to learn, understand, and migrate to the cloud. This is the initial phase in which
we understand our client’s business and determine which cloud strategy is suitable for a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
migration.
Cloud Assessment : The initial step!
20
Evaluate workloads or the group of
applications that the customer
wants to move to cloud. Common
examples of workloads are business
applications, email servers, SaaS
Services.
Workloads
The CIOs may ask the team to do
risk analysis or a proof of concept
for testing cloud underlying
infrastructure and services. You
should test a non-critical
application migration to cloud
before committing to a total cloud
transformation.
Prioritizing
Customers must decide the specific
time slots for their migration. They
are different than downtime
requirements for migration.
Timelines
Sometimes subcomponents of the
same application are named
differently. Over a period of a
business application’s lifetime they
are treated and funded separately,
and the top level IT staff categorize
them separately during assessment.
Grouping or interface
Cloud migration is considered a pure “lift and shift” of the software stack: operating
system, applications, databases, interfaces and other components. In this approach, the
customer expects similar functionality and features after the application is enabled in
Cloud environment.
The second approach is an accelerated approach where migration and an upgrade are
combined together. For some customers, this approach works better. It saves cost and
manpower requirements by combining testing for the two changes. A single go-live also
enables the company to achieve the same goal in shorter duration. The benefits will
almost always outweigh the risks when using this approach.

24. Case Study
Centre For Development Of Imaging Technology – Govt. of Kerala
Challenge
The donation portal was developed in the
context of the August’18 natural calamity and
has contributed substantively to the efforts
towards rebuilding Kerala. The parameters of
system performance generated during the
period are revealing.
On 18th August 2018, the traffic on the
donation portal shot up, the bandwidth and
resources required exploited and the donation
portal crashed by afternoon. The distribution of
users on the portal rose to 4,20,000 and touch
6,00,000 at the peak duration. On 19th early
morning migration to the AWS server was done.
After Migration
Business Outcome:
The variation in server connection time as recorded by the webserver
is provided in the figure below. The latency rose to exceptionally high
on 18th August. After migrating the Amazon webserver the server
connection time dropped to a few seconds.
Infrastructure was highly available, scalable and agile to handle such
huge load with minimum manual intervention.
25. BuilderStudio : For Public Sector Overview of smart city services
There is a wide range of services and applications covering fields such as transportation
(intelligent road networks, connected cars and public transport), public utilities (smart
electricity, water and gas distribution), education, health and social care, public safety.
Emerging applications and services are extended into diverse fields such as everyday life of
citizens, disaster management, smart buildings, logistics and intelligent procurement. The
applications for this portfolio include implementation for the connected city such as: smart
grid, smart home, security, building automation, remote health and wellness monitoring,
location aware applications, mobile payments and other machine-to-machine (M2M)
applications. We with Builder help you conceptualize these applications using the robust
platform and suggest the features required to cover all the aspects of the said application .
The Role of Technology
Builder uses advanced new technology to improve city applications and services. There
are communications, analytical and control technologies that permit transforming the
way of doing things while influencing better policy and urban management. Our scalable
technology is changing the entire way the service can be solved, combining the ICTs
with city infrastructure and shifting the city systems solutions.
Developed applications are able to supply real-time information and expand the ability
to forecast and manage urban flows, and fulfil other functions of the city. Also, they can
help to reveal how demands for transportation, water and energy peak in a city and how
to take appropriate action and respond. It is important to the city stakeholders that they
can collaborate to smooth these peaks and to achieve robustness .
26. Builder : Smart Cities Application and Services
The expression “smart city” has been used for several years by a number of technology
companies and serves as a description for the application of compound systems to integrate
the operation of urban infrastructure and services.
The provision of real-time information about urban infrastructures is important for running
different helpful applications and services. The spectrum of application areas is very wide.
For example, real-time travel information is essential for applications which let people plan
trips on public transportation. The user could have real time information about when the next
bus or train is coming.
Another example is an application, which collects and distributes real time information about
where parking is accessible so drivers can promptly find free spaces, pre-book them and pay
online using different wallet integrations we provide . Access to suitable data represents an
opportunity for developers to create applications. In this way stakeholders can access wide
online services, with portals for basic information, citizen services, business, and tourism, all
based on a common infrastructure.
Smart cities are deploying all these application and services online in different sectors of
cities which brings to the next part of the presentation , hosting on cloud.

27. BuilderCloud : For Public Sector
Role of Cloud computing in Smart City development
The smart city vision involves enriching quality of life by gaining data insight from
interconnected sensors, devices and people. Continuous urban issues like security, waste
management and traffic can be addressed by using data to gain efficiencies; but to do this all
of the data needs somewhere to go where it can be easily accessed and used by all
stakeholders, both private and governmental.
The cloud service will help break down intergovernmental storage wherein different
departments have no clear channel to communicate and understand data-based priorities of
other departments – a factor seen as a major obstacle to smart city adoption. Using
BuilderCloud the stakeholders get insights on not only the required cloud infrastructure but
also the future needs as per the current usage .
Smart cities can take advantage from cloud based solutions in infrastructure, platforms and
application (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), services with cloud platforms, obstacles and enablers in using
cloud technologies, and changes to applications and e-services along their migration to
cloud environments.
Builder.ai has helped several government and education organizations migrate to the cloud
and free-up resources by lowering IT costs while improving productivity, operational
resiliency, and business agility.
