may become infected. If this happens, one treatment option is a tonsillectomy.
A tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the tonsils. Tonsils are two small glands located in the back of your throat. Tonsils house white blood cells to help you fight infection, but sometimes the tonsils themselves become infected.
Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils that can make your tonsils swell and give you a sore throat. Frequent episodes of tonsillitis might be a reason you need to have a tonsillectomy. Other symptoms of tonsillitis include fever, trouble swallowing, and swollen glands around your neck. Your doctor may notice that your throat is red and your tonsils are covered in a whitish or yellow coating. Sometimes, the swelling can go away on its own. In other cases, antibiotics or a tonsillectomy might be necessary.
A tonsillectomy can also be a treatment for breathing problems like heavy snoring and sleep apnea.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
This presentation provides an introduction to quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis and marker-assisted selection (MAS) in plant breeding. The presentation begins by explaining the type of quantitative traits. The process of QTL analysis, including the use of molecular genetic markers and statistical methods, is discussed. Practical examples demonstrating the power of MAS are provided, such as its use in improving crop traits in plant breeding programs. Overall, this presentation offers a comprehensive overview of these important genomics-based approaches that are transforming modern agriculture.
2. BSE
By regularly examining her own breast, a
woman is likely to notice any changes that
occur. The best time for breast self examination
(BSE) is about a week after periods, when the
breasts are not tender or swollen. If the periods
are not regular, BSE is best done on the same
day every month. It may be done either in
standing position, in front of a mirror or in
lying down (supine) position.
4. EXAMINATION IN STANDING AND
SUPINE POSITIONS
Step 1
1. Stand in front of the mirror. Check both breasts for
anything unusual. Check for any change in contour of
your breasts. Check the upper and outer part of your
breast (toward the armpit); this is where half of all
breast cancers are found.
2. Gently squeeze the nipple to check for discharge.
Check for puckering (small folds), dimpling or scaling
5.
6. STEP 2
1. Clasp (grasp something tightly) your hands behind
your head and press your hands forward.
2. Note any change in the contour of breasts.
7. STEP 3
1. Press your hands firmly on
your hips and bow slightly
toward the mirror as you pull
your shoulders and elbows
forward.
2. Note any change in
contour of breasts in this
position.
8. STEP 4
1. Raise your left arm behind your head.
2. Use three or more fingers of your right hand to feel
your left breast firmly.
3. Beginning at the outer edge, press the flat part of your
fingers in small circles, moving the circles slowly around
the breast.
4. Gradually work toward the nipple and examine the
nipple.
5. Be sure to cover the whole breast.
6. Pay special attention between the breasts and underarm
including the underarm itself.
7. Feel for any unusual lumps or masses under the skin.
8. Repeat the examination on the right breast.
9. STEP 5
1. Lie flat on your back with your left arm over your head and a pillow
or folded towel under your left shoulder. This position flattens the
breast and makes it easier to check.
10. 2. Use the same circular motion described above, i.e. From periphery
towards nipple. The entire surface of the breast is palpated from the
outer edge of the breast to the nipple. Alternative palpation patterns
are circular or clockwise, wedge and vertical strip
