10. Let’s watch this 1:27 minute YouTube clip together taking special note to observe Mary
as she performs the Reference Interview.
What can we learn from this encounter and are there any of Mary’s quotes we can use at the Ask Us Desk?
11. “Hear that everybody… our friend here has given us a great idea. We’ll just put the books
any DAMN place we choose! We don't care, right? Isn't that right?!"
"You haven't taken a break all morning."
"I just want to do a good job Howard"
“Excuse me, what are you doing?”
“Ya you!”
“Now I’m curious… you were just randomly, putting that book on the shelf, is that it? “
“You’ve just given us a great idea! I mean… why are we wasting our time?”
“It looked like you were just putting that book away!”
“I guess you didn’t know that we have a system.”

13. I need help finding a couple of articles on the #metoo movement in Canada. Can you help?
A professor at Brock studies the plant Madagascar Periwinkle as a way of investigating
the synthesis of natural products for medical research. How can I find peer-reviewed
recent articles on this topic for a lab report?
Looking for a good article on the teaching strategies of mathematics to secondary
school students with autism for a seminar in 15 minutes.
Canadian engagement at Vimy Ridge was a defining moment in Canadian history.
Why is this so and can you help me find magazine and scholarly articles on this?
Looking at gender bias of women in Canadian politics since world war two.
Where can I start to look? How is this topic covered in the news?

16. It's almost unknowable. All of our Ebsco databases contribute
metadata. We also include a number of other indexes from
other providers. The fly in the ointment is the central index that
Ebsco has created but has no title list. This index isn't
searchable by any other means so it's impossible to know
what's in it but it's big; much bigger than e.g. Academic Search
Complete. From what I understand (and remember - it's been a
long time since I last looked into it) it's mostly skeletal
metadata (title, author, etc.) directly from publishers.
