During a BTEC Media Creative course, the document's author was tasked with creating a promotional video for their school, Haverstock School. To complete the project, the author organized a group consisting of themselves, Naim, and Kimo to divide roles and responsibilities. Naim was the director, sound person, and location researcher. The author was the editor and Kimo was the camera person and in charge of lighting. The group decided to view other promotional videos to understand conventions. They planned to include interviews and montages of sports, classwork, and performances to appeal to their target audiences of year 6 students and parents.

2. During our studies in BTEC Media Creative we was ordered to create a
promotional movie for our school : Haverstock School. To complete this
task I decide I must be in a group in order for me the complete this
promotional video. Doing this I organised a group of two people: Naim
and Kimo. After forming a group we decided it would be easier to
have separate roles which would make this task faster. Naims was the
director, sound man and location researcher. I was the editor of the
promotional and Kimo was the camera man and in charge of lighting.
After forming the group we decided what will be in the film? Etc. so the
best thing to do was the view other promotional videos and
understood most of the conventions and when they were perfected to
be used. i.e. in the beginning of King Edward Promotional Movie there
was an interview at the beginning taking place. Also the next couple
shots were a montage of shots from sports to working in the class as
well as shots in the performing hall. All these shots perfect for our
promotional video.
we are targeting the audience of yr. 6 and their parents
do we believe by taking shots of the sports hall or
anything revolving round sports as the Yr 6’s would find
it more appealing and interesting because it firstly fun
and exciting and finally because it isn't facilities that they
haven't come across. Also we target their parents by
taking shots of pupils doing work in classes etc.
But also we targeted our yr6 audience by interviewing a
teacher from the sports department or either a teacher
a the art department at the same time we interviewed
the core subject teachers such as the English, math and
science teachers.

3. Subject Reason Why
English The reason why we used this subject to
appeal to parents is because it is
amongst maths and science is is a core
subject which means it is important to
qualify with these subjects.
Math/Science Other than being a core subject we will
be showing maths because we want the
parents to understand Haverstock take
these subjects serious and that there
our first priority.
Art/P.E The reason why we chose this subject
was to attract the yr6’s with amazing
and interesting clips of our brilliant
facility. This was if the parents are’nt to
persuaded then the child would.
