3. INTRODUCTION
The brain computer interface system consist of 3 primary
hardware components
1. Mesh cap
2. Amplifier
3. Two monitors
Specialized software
4.
5. Scientists are now creating graphical software that patients can more
readily communicate with their caregivers.
There are two ways for patients to make their selections.
The system tracks the timing of the flashes and the response, identifies
the attended icon and outputs the appropriate sound, text and/or
environmental control signal. The system can also generate speech from
words created on the computer, enabling users to communicate audibly.
In the second method, the user can imagine particular movements.
6. TYPES OF BRAIN COMPUTER
INTERFACE SYTEM
Invasive BCI systems
Noninvasive BCI systems
8. The common structure of a brain computer interface is
divided into six stages as given below.
1. Data acquisition
2. signal preprocessing
3. computer interfacing
4. feature extraction
5. signal classification
6. device control
9. APPLCIATION
Pest control
Military surveillance
Mapping of underground area
Robotics
Electronics-toting robo-rates
11. FUTURE EXPANSION
To extend BCI/BMI to a prototype of
brain-to-brain communication
To improve the communication speed
of current BCI/BMI
To expand the understanding of input
and output channels of brain
12. CONCLUSION
This technology is going to open new horizons in
the field of Biomedical Instrumentation. It will create
the whole new world of challenges for electronics
engineers who work in the field of signal processing
and love to explore matlab.
