Antenna design for sigfox ready devices recommendation guideSigfox
In this document, several aspects of antenna design and integration are developed. The document focuses on SIGFOX IOT application and small form factor devices.
The importance of implementing a high-performance antenna in a device is demonstrated by analyzing the SIGFOX radio link budget.
Theories are then developed to explain why antennas can be extremely sensitive to their environment and may therefore have varying performance (e.g. when held compared to standing alone). Using the same arguments, it is shown that the same antenna can have different behavior when implemented in two distinct device architectures. This leads to an initial finding that for each device development, a specific antenna design, or at least antenna tuning, must be carried out.
Then, the most important physical parameters that impact antenna characteristics and behavior are presented. Several typical antenna topologies, miniaturization techniques, and manufacturing techniques applicable to SIGFOX IOT applications and small form factor devices are listed.
Advice regarding off-the-shelf antennas is given to explain why antenna performance depicted in datasheets may differ from “real-life implementation” performance.
A selection tool will help the reader to select the best antenna topology for the device, based on several parameters such as expected performance, integration or miniaturization level, and design complexity.
To close the document, a simple method that roughly estimates devices radiated performance is given. This method does not involve very expensive equipment, such as anechoic chambers, and is relatively easy to set up.

Modern Prospecting Techniques for Connecting with Prospects (from Sales Hacke...HubSpot
Sales is a difficult world to be in because buyers aren't putting up with salespeople anymore. Instead of helping and building relationships, sales reps are still focused on closing prospects - even when they aren't ready to buy! So buyers ignore them. Because of that, even great sales reps would be lucky to get on the phone with someone.
While buyers have evolved and become more sophisticated, sales reps and training programs have been slow to adapt to that change.
Learn actionable modern prospecting techniques you can apply immediately from two best selling authors and sales experts: Max Altschuler CEO of Sales Hacker, and Mark Roberge CRO of HubSpot.

Presentation of the Mainflulux team held In Portland at Embedded Linux Conference & OpenIoT Summit North America March 14 2018.
IoT middleware platforms have become necessary building blocks of every complex vertical IoT solution. Traditionally, the platforms have been built to run in the cloud; wide availability and rich capabilities have driven the first wave of IoT adoption. As the scale and complexity of IoT projects have grown, however, the need to provide solutions that move to process to the network edge has also grown. Down-scaling cloud capabilities is complex in part because of the more modest capabilities of edge computing in typical deployment models. As a result, there are few open solutions that address this need.
We introduce Mainflux (https://github.com/Mainflux/mainflux) - a IoT Platform for cloud and edge that can simultaneously scale-out to hundreds of nodes in the cloud but can also scale down to a modest RaspberryPi computer without changing a single line of code. This scalability is achieved thanks to careful architecture, the effectiveness of the Go programming language, and technology choices used in the implementation.
We will discuss the platform, its use and application, and our work to bring core concepts from it to various open source projects including EdgeX.

Convergence of device and data at the Edge CloudMichelle Holley
Ever growing need of Intelligent Systems evolves analytics and decision making into AI with Machine Learning as tools for knowledge assimilation. What is essential for ML is a form of data that has inherent information that can be translated to useful information (intelligence) for decision making. IoT is the key for intelligent systems as they collect data at every end point. They are like ends of neuron network in human body. And the data collected has to be refined for decision making as it traverses up to the brain (AI Cloud) – like lymph nodes we have Edge Clouds. We will explore in this short talk two aspects of such IoT infrastructure where you have lossy network for IoTs, gateway options for device data and how it can seamlessly integrate with Edge Cloud Networks. We will review such protocols as Wireless Mesh, programmable gateways and extension of overlays into the Cloud.

Online aptitude test management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
The purpose of on-line aptitude test system is to take online test in an efficient manner and no time wasting for checking the paper. The main objective of on-line aptitude test system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location doesn’t matter). No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test.
Every time when lecturers/professors need to conduct examinations they have to sit down think about the questions and then create a whole new set of questions for each and every exam. In some cases the professor may want to give an open book online exam that is the student can take the exam any time anywhere, but the student might have to answer the questions in a limited time period. The professor may want to change the sequence of questions for every student. The problem that a student has is whenever a date for the exam is declared the student has to take it and there is no way he can take it at some other time. This project will create an interface for the examiner to create and store questions in a repository. It will also create an interface for the student to take examinations at his convenience and the questions and/or exams may be timed. Thereby creating an application which can be used by examiners and examinee’s simultaneously.
Examination System is very useful for Teachers/Professors. As in the teaching profession, you are responsible for writing question papers. In the conventional method, you write the question paper on paper, keep question papers separate from answers and all this information you have to keep in a locker to avoid unauthorized access. Using the Examination System you can create a question paper and everything will be written to a single exam file in encrypted format. You can set the General and Administrator password to avoid unauthorized access to your question paper. Every time you start the examination, the program shuffles all the questions and selects them randomly from the database, which reduces the chances of memorizing the questions.
